This is going to be a celebration of Robert Williams career. Only 2 available tickets (out of 45) are currently on sale now. The $2500 price tag includes a 3 day / 2 night stay at the Mission Inn (http://www.missioninn.com) and an amazing goodie bag. Usually you get an item exclusive to the event from each featured guest. Not including the free sketches or the items received from the returning guests.
I've been to the 2008 and 2009 events. They are pretty fun. You just hang out with the artists and other fans. You watch as the artists create a big collaborative painting that gets taken away Saturday night to have prints made by Sunday morning. I was reluctant to go at first because I'm not too social and I didn't see the point in hanging out with artists who I don't know, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. Plus you get a lot of free stuff that more than makes up for the price tag. This year I am not too excited about the artists line up - as they aren't really my cup of tea - but I know the event will be good. Plus it'll be interesting to talk to some of the artists and find out more about them and maybe my interest in their art will grow.
Something else that is cool is that you meet new people and the whole group is kind of an inner circle of friends. I have friends I only see on this trip - and some even live in the area I live in.
