Good read. Nice job, sleepy. Yeah, Josh really needs to come to LA. We've only had Os Gemeos, Barry McGee, Craola Simkins and a few others this year *chuckle*
I know we're spoiled here, but it really would be amazing if Josh had a show here in town! Josh, you can stay at my place in the spare bedroom. I'll trade you lodging for a Shedding AP!!

Looks like Sirens won the voting poll to be the summer print release. Hope I'm quick enough on the draw to get one. Josh will be releasing further info about the release in upcoming newsletters to his mailing list.

Josh will be releasing further info about the release in upcoming newsletters to his mailing list. looks like this might happen quite soon.. here is what Josh wrote on his Facebook earlier today: I just saw the printer's proof for the Sirens print edition, I think you will really like it. The detail is sharp, and the color is right on target. For info on the release please join the mailing list.

Above and Below The Joseph Gross Gallery Tucson, AZ Hope to see you at the closing reception Aug 30, feel free to bring along any prints, or cards you would like to have signed. Brooke Grucella, the gallery curator, has been amazing to work with, and it was her interest in my work and style that made this exhibit possible. She is also an artist, check out her work if you have the chance. www.phoenixartspace.com/members/504Here is a recent review of the exhibit by Dolly Spalding www.thezmag.com/article-1015-above-and-below.htmlCheers, Josh

Much as admire jk's work and have a few prints. well i'm not up for this due to the nature the beast has become. ..drops are just not easy... so I'm out. (it's just not fun).
..Gave up on an og ... what seems like an age ago. which for me is a real regret.

Yes, I agree. Dave at Limited Addiction (as was) did me a really good turn on Tic Toc, for which I will always be grateful, but these drops are no fun and I have been on every waiting list for ever for an original and never had so much as a sniff.
Anyway, fwiw I wish Josh every success. He still appears to give a fuck...

I'd have to agree, I was a regular contributor to the jk forum but gave up and lost interest quite a while ago.
I sold the majority of prints I had pretty much around the FecalFace & Spoke Art releases, neither of which were handled all that well if I remember rightly. Then I seem to remember a post over on JK of 'doing something for the forum' which again never seemed to materialise. That and the whole flipper thing just started to get a bit tedious and has tainted it for me.

I appropriate your candor, Droow, and agree with you on those issues. I try to do my best, and realize it is impossible to please everyone. I hope you stop by the forum from time to time, you will be missed.
Droow, if you would like to be removed from my preview list, please send me an email.
Cheers Droow

Well I'm going to try and get one on these prints. Of course they are hard to buy during an internet release but that's the way it is when someone has so many fans. It does bother me to see limited releases on ebay right after the sale but unfortunately there are as many (if not more) greedy people as there are sincere collectors, it seems to get worse all the time.

Couple of things: 1.) I agree with oldfart. 2.) Josh did have a special contest for his forum members to win a shot at purchasing "Scorch I"...(I was one of the winners) 3.) There have been talks of an online art sale in the works for next year (I think). It should give a lot of folks who never dreamed of owning a sketch/painting a really good chance! I am very excited about this! More info here: joshkeyes.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1190

Josh, I thank you for what I think is you truly caring about your fans. As I said I asked to be placed on Daves list via Dave when I made my first purchase with him, any even played along the right way and continued to make smaller purchases of other artists he repped. But after 5 years of waiting i to have given up on an original, Internet drops I have been lucky at times but who knows. I am a huge fan and will of course try depending on drop time, but maybe a lottery or guess the number like last time. Either way great print and I am very excited for the release, and never owning an original I would be curious to see if you had any interest like other artists and possible do a limited print on Canvas, or maybe some sculptures ?

In talking with Josh, I have found that he is very interested in connecting with his fans and continually tries to improve on these interactions including print releases. I think it's one of the difficult situations where demand is higher than the supply so not everyone can be happy. I think no matter what measures artists take, some prints and artwork will inevitably end up in the hands of those who are trying to make a quick buck. I can't really blame Josh for this.

I fully agree with this.. also, in regards to question about canvas print, here is what Josh posted on his forum about a month ago: If I do any larger sized prints, other than the long horizontal editions like Stampede or Sowers, I would like to try printing on stretched canvas or panels. I think it would make sense both in price and product. For that larger size, why not have something that truly emulates the quality of the original painting in color, detail, and it's physicality. The canvas/panel idea would be separate from the print editions. I would continue releasing limited print editions, but the canvas/panel prints would be in the medium price range, and the edition sizes would be much smaller.
