Scorch 1 is horrifically good, but Flutter is heartbreaking. His narrative keeps pushing and pushing. |

Scorch, great! I love anything having to do with fire. Plus I'm a big fan of sharks, so this painting encompasses some of my major passions!

I can't wait for this solo show in May. I have a feeling it is going to be a breakout show for him. "Scorch 1" is an interesting concept, and a spinoff of the "Plough" piece, which is a pretty amazing piece,imo. These leaked images definitely do a solid job of building even more hype for an already on fire artist. All I can do is cross my fingers at a chance to procure a piece before his prices rise more and more.

truly amazing work. he kills it every time.
the relection of the fire in the water in scorch and the reflection of the light at the bottom of the water in flutter are truly stunning. that said, i don't think i'd like to hang either of them at home.
i loved the earlier dawn pieces too, but i couldn't get past the fact that the animals were dead rather than asleep, and again i wouldn't wan't a 'dead' animal picture on my wall!
sounds like there will be another scorch themed piece to come also...

I wonder is these are for the SCOPE fair in march or his solo in may... Shark is nice concept but the colors seem a little dull...dirty? Maybe it's the pic.
On second look, i'm sure it's on purpose with what looks to be an oil slick? on the surface.

Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw the water being covered with oil since oil floats above water...
I love the _flutter_ the best... i'm looking forward to seeing his solo show soon.

Flutter is a tough one...on the one hand, I agree that it would be tough to hang a deer carcass on the wall...on the other hand, the symbolism of the butterflies, and the way they seem to pay their respects to the passing of the deer (at least, that's what I get out of it)...is kind of hauntingly beautiful and emotional.

Hm... I wonder what the shark on means? Big shark = SUV guzzling oil -> pollution? Or shark in global warming situation with pollution, fin caught on fire from friction with surface?
