ricosg11: Josh has less desirable works? did I miss something? I think this is just to get some OGs in the hands of fans.. perhaps smaller sizes.. I think it is more to give back to the fn base than a giant sweeping direction change to the future of Josh's art distribution.. just my opinion.. I could of course be wrong.. and I think it is very admirable.. as a big fan.. I am excited about this prospect.. +1 As above I am note sure i would put the recent OGs that were available in a category that was any less desirable that any of his previous work. Didn't know any of his work was undesirable. As others have said i think Josh is going to see how he goes at getting a few of these pieces, both big and small, into the hands of some fans who are not on the pointy end of gallery VIP lists. As a fan of Josh's work i am excited by the prospect of what this show will present and the possibility of picking up an original of his work. As an aside - do artists like Josh (and his gallery reps) keep a registry of sorts of the originals and where they may be located? Obviously if a piece is sold by the original purchaser onto someone else then that may break the cycle but I know that it I was to pick up an older original I would get in touch with the artist and let them know that I have it in my collection, and love their work etc, etc. Thanks.

I'm actually curious about this as well, though this may not be the right thread for this discussion. I've contacted an artist after acquiring a piece second hand but they did not seem too interested.

Josh has requested that people let him know where his OG's are now living....I think he keeps some sort of record and I know from other collectors that this is done so that pieces can be borrowed for shows etc....like the Arizona show recently where 'Lifted' amongst other paintings was on display.

i will do a backflip off my couch if i score...although the hospital bills for falling on my head will likely be more than buying on the secondary market

Congrats to any one on here who picked up Lifted II and will keep it. I had logged in to Paypal in advance of the release - but was still asked once i had clicked on the Paypal button when Josh released it to place my password in again - by which time it was too late and it had gone. oh well. probably operator error at my end. edit - had the wrong print named (what a dumbass

I'm pretty sure you can't pre-log in to paypal, it will ask for your info regardless. Someone mentioned you can prep by copying your password beforehand and just pasting it in when asked. Wish I thought of that.

I should also add that I am very intrigued by this change in direction by Josh. Good to see him mixing it up and keeping it fresh.
Love the Above the Fog one – but not yet convinced by the Hydra piece. Both of these pieces are such an evident change from Josh (which is in no way a negative at all) that I will have to have a bit more time to let the images resonate and then I will be better placed to provide my 2 cents.
Look forward to hearing what others think.

I see a little apocalyptic Portland in Above the Fog.

Still trying to get use to this new direction from Josh. I wonder if the entire new body of work for fall will be in this new style?

I love seeing a shakeup in style. I'm not saying I prefer it to his past few pieces by any means (these are great, but the Exodus series at Roq LaRue was amazing), but I love when an artists gets outside of his comfort zone for a bit.
