I use to like Dalek's stuff more than Colman, but with Dalek getting so abstract I'm starting to change my mind. Plus I saw these images on the New Image blog and liked them. I think they might be from a previous exhibition but I'm not sure which one.

I think they might be from a previous exhibition but I'm not sure which one. These images are from Colman's show at V1 Gallery in Copenhagen last year. v1gallery.com/exhibition/show/45

I've seen his earlier works at the previous shows and I really love his work! He has gone abstract lately though for some reason, I totally dig his older figuratively style.

Usually enjoy Colman but these leave me cold. +1. These don't do anything for me and I'm usually a fan of his work.

Posted up an interview with Richard here. Here is an excerpt: AM: On the subject of James Marshall, I’ve seen him describe you as ‘his nemesis’ previously, which made me laugh. You guys have shown together previously - what sort of relationship do you enjoy? RC: We Have know each other for a long time now. I love James, I guess I see him as sort of an older brother at this point. I owe James a lot, many of the first shows I did I got because of his help and support. He’s a good egg. AM: You’ve shown a great level of progression within your art, and your style has evolved and changed a whole lot since I first came across your work. Do you find the need to continually evolve your output? Is there ever a fear of stagnation if you don’t continue on this path? RC: Yes I think it’s important to evolve. I’m not really afraid of any kind of stagnation in my work I just don’t think it’s me to stick with one thing or another for too long. Whether the outcome is good or bad, I think there is an importance in the attempt to move forward with whatever it is you are doing. I’m not really comfortable with doing the same sort of stuff over and over again - it’s not for me. For the most part, I try and aim for things I think are a little further than what I think I can accomplish. It doesn’t always work out but for me, the attempt is what’s important and I think I’m more satisfied working that way.

Nice interview... it's really great to see how much his art has evolved. Every artist learns on the way, thus art will always evolve. But what happens if an artist is to stay behind bars for 50 years, would his art evolve mostly from his experiences in a prison. I don't know if you'd consider that as a step forward or backward. Anyway, back to Colman, I hope that he'll be able to globe-trot around and learn further on the way.

Just got back from Guerrero Gallery earlier tonight... boy, Colman's fans are going to get a nice treatment from not only one, but two installations which would be fitting for the gallery's spacious area. His B/W metallic piece from Fecal Face is a nice preview piece for his new solo show. I'm looking forward to seeing his complete show soon! I think it's going to be an amazing show!

No as I stopped by the gallery on the way home from work. But, eventually, I'm going to visit it again with the camera sometimes this week.

Stopped by the gallery earlier today... here's the preview photos: New works have piqued me intensely with b/w/metallic colors.
