With my only successful thread being the mailbag ( sad that is my legacy here ) I thought I would start a new thread. This thread is for artwork that you own or owned which is leaving or has left. Kind of like a graveyard or rebirth.

An awesome, hilarious new thread I propose! How about adding my fake Miro print that ended up be validated as fake by the Miro Foundation itself in Barcelona, and then subsequent taken and destroyed by no less than Interpol. That was pretty cool...

Saw this early in the year and picked it up. Reminded me a lot of my own work both visually and conceptually. When my g/f and I spilt I unfortunately gave it up. Dave Sheppard - 'Dim' print

That was pretty cool... I have to agree with these other guys....that's pretty intense! Makes for an awesome story but I hope you got something back out of the deal?

Sorry everone - probably made this sound a bit more personally severe than it was. "Yes" we did get all our money back + interest even. That's why the story actually ends up being so cool because who ever thinks a piece they own somehow gets pulled into some international art fraud investigation - yeah, definetely 007 like?!?! It was a good learning though... that even tho we bought it from a good size gallery with cred AND had a third party certification of authenticity (but thru that gallery) you can never be too sure. Thankfully, we now have enough cash (and almost no wall space - critical factor ), we can stick to OGs.
