Wow. Purchased at the' Buy It Now' price of $3,600.00.
I think the original price on a 12 x 12 back in the day was around $900.

i think this sold for $1200 at the show. i must confess. i bought it. what can i say? i have wanted a josh keyes for the longest time. wolf + graf + cameras - i liked it. i probably overpaid but i don't think i will regret it. here's a bigger pic. damn you benvan, for making me break my new rule against buying. first you point out the monroe, now the keyes. i don't even look on ebay usually. but thanks i guess since i enjoy looking at them on my wall! ;D guess i need to get my lazy ass into selling mode and post some stuff on ebay. how much were 12 x 12's at josh liner?

You have wanted one for a while, but I know how these kinds of opportunities always seem to come up at the very worst time. It looks great though , along with the Monroes.

Hung it may look lame but the fact that YOU bought it makes me less sad on missing it!!!
amazing score, even if Josh tops when he uses "water" imo.

I saw that yesterday, and was watching and waiting to see the bidding start. I didn't see a BIN price though maybe I missed that ( I might have pulled the trigger for it). Nice pickup sleepboy!

the BIN price was added later. I would have bought it, too, if it was still available when I saw the BIN.

Some things seem unfair about Ebay - similar to the BIN on the Keyes - I have been watching the red Brendan Monroe currently, and the price has changed 3 times in the past day. It went from a 2,300 BIN or best offer, to 1,800 BIN, to 2,500 BIN or best offer, and I assume it will change several more times before the auction is over. I also never understood why you could have a low starting bid and a reserve price - couldn't the bidding just start at the reserve price?
anyway - sorry for the rant

great pick up HUNG, as always amazing I to was looking at the piece and did not see a buy it now so I think you had to email to get the button put up. I found one of his small drawings ( 12X9 or 12X12 ) on a gallery site from UK for 6500pounds so I would say a steal they had two on the site one a rocking horse in water and do not remember the other.

I think Josh's stuff is mostly on wood box panels, instead of that dust collecting canvas stuff. I inquired about that Rocking Horse piece, and the guy told me something about taking into consideration what the upcoming prices would be (before the show happened) at Liner - and what the prints sell for on eBay, and he quoted me 7000 GBP. That's for a DRAWING. I don't think it'll sell very quickly.
Josh's price increases seem to be moving at a healthy, rather than excessive pace. I'd take the gamble with waiting lists before I shelled out 14 grand for a small drawing. Mind you, I'm chomping at the bit to get a nice sized Keyes. He's the most original force on my undereducated art radar right now.

I think that drawing originally sold for $300 US framed ... it was also one of the last drawings to sell at the George Billis show in L.A. around Dec, 2006 if I remember correctly.
Back in those days, Josh would post images as he finished them on his website, and you could just call the gallery up and say yeah, I'd like that one.
I doubt that drawing is going to sell for 7000 GBP. That's an absurd price.

Sounds like I got a decent price on this from all the feedback I got. Glad to hear that when you go for something thinking you overpaid. In any event, can't wait to see it in person...
Where are this site where this drawing is selling for 14K? LOL...

Sorry Hung I do not remember the site but it was crazy, I will dig through my archives and post it when I find it. Yes the gallery when I inquired as it had no price listed emailed me back the insane qoute and I had to figure how the drawing was priced 4 times the secondary market of a canvas piece. Again great buy
