Noticed that there isn't a thread on Adam Neate yet. Adam's work is amazing! At first glance I thought his prints/concepts were very nice and well thought out, then I visited the UK this May and I was blown away at the Ron and Adam show at Elms Lester. Seeing his stuff in person gives me a better understanding of how talented this man really is. Using mostly cardboard and paint he creates some of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever seen. Its also nice to see him give 1000 pieces "FREE" to the people in London. Truely just for the love of sharing art with the peeps. These are from his latest show. Pics are from Ian of Wallkandy. (thanks again) Hung, can you fix this for me? (sorry for the ginormous images...)

Maybe its my biased view of Adam, but I place him here because I think his work has transcended being merely just urban/street art. Adam did start off as as an artist leaving pieces in the street, but he's now moved into finer art and have refined many of his pieces for viewing at higher end gallery shows and museums.
So I do agree that he's was an urban artist to begin with. I wonder how/when an artist is considered "contemporary"? Ian Francis and Parla have also been long considered Urban artists, but I think due to their popularity which seem to transcend mere street/urban art, they deserve recognition in this category. But this is just MHO.
What do you guys think?

Love Adam's work but don't know too much about it. Out of curiosity, what does a nice size piece go for?

About £20k or thereabouts...the larger pieces at Elms were more.

Truly innovative and visionary work! I feel like I'm looking at art 20 years into the future. I've never seen his work in person, but I can only imagine it would blow me away.
Fingers crossed for the poster.

Not keen on this piece at all, has a real 3D feel to it, but not his good stuff.

Is this the same artist? I like this. Yes, this is Adam Neate but look a little like Micallef doesn't it.

a little darker (in colour, not necessarily tone) than his recent works, but yes, it's unmistakenly adam neate. i think his head profile is instantly recognisable.
nice looking work. i wonder where his work leads him next after his stunning show at elms last year?

Stunning new works. Just by reading this thread you can see how a great artist has progressed with his work and materials.

These look like they would be wild to see in person. Are his materials strictly plastic/fiberglass or does he use other materials too?
