Looks like an incredible show. Really in awe of the wonder in this lost narrative and in Maier's life story as a whole. Always been fascinated by the 50's and all the huge strides made in art, film, and music during the potent post-WWII era of revival. Some of the photographs in this body of work truly are spectacular on an artistic and historical platform. Striking compositions that tell of a pivotal time in American history and that might not have ever been told at all. Some of the 12x12 gelatin prints are tempting, but the vintage photos printed by Vivian are even more enticing.

Most intriguing photographer i've ever seen.
Just read about this and blown away.
I have personally never been more intrigued and moved by a story and photos. Its absolutely surreal how she was able to encapsulate these moments of pure unguarded humanity.

Fabulous show especially the self portraits section. Seeing the many different ways she photographed herself considering she was mostly unseen as a photographer in her life time was fascinating. I would recommend the self portraits book as well if you are unable to see the exhibit in Los Angeles. I did not get to see the documentary but looking forward to it.

The thread's title needs to be changed to "Vivian" --it currently reads "Vivan"
