Nice collection, I really like the clear contrast between the harsher street art and the softer fine art. I especially like the Cherri Wood's (He's Late and I'm Not Here) and the Murakami (727-272)

commandax: Thanks. I believe this was Stella's first piece on canvas. Kirsten really convinced me to take a leap of faith. I went to the gallery the week after I bought it and wasn't disappointed one bit. It's stunning. mattlock: HAHAHAH! I'm Mao obsessed. This is probably the last thing I'd ever sell, unless I was trading up to the Blue w/ Red Bird. hung: I remember the selling part, but I don't think buying more was part of the plan. mute: I picked up Pouty from Court a few months ago. Love the piece. It's uber erotic. benvan: Most definitely a strong contrast. I'm completely captivated by street art, but definitely know how to appreciate "fine art" as well. One more piece to share for now. I guess this can considered the only piece of "sculpture" I own (albeit semi-mass produced). 30" Mega-Mao.

i was blown away by 'adrift' when i first saw it. the depth of the colours stella used are so intense (the picture you posted doesn't do this piece justice). it was then, and probably still is now my absolute favourite piece that i've seen by her. you're a lucky guy to own such a great piece by her. silent stories is one of the most elegant audrey kawaski pieces i have seen too. great composition. i love the simple compositions like this that audrey makes. some of her work can look a bit too 'busy' for me, but this one really hits the spot. bet you can't wait to get this home! awesome collection stephen

Most definitely not. Still adore her work. I need to get the pieces I have framed/reframed. My two favorite pieces from her that I own: "Pure Fiction" "He's Late"

Congrats on the Shep, that's a really nice piece. Is the Avone w/ 2esae from the Streets of Brooklyn show at Thinkspace?

rkitek: It is indeed from that show. It was cool because I was actually chatting it up with 2esae and Ski prior to both purchasing the piece and learning that they had a hand in it. It's rare that I'll purchase a piece without considering its long term investment/monetary value, but this was one of those pieces that just called my name.

Always nice to get to talk to the artists about the work - I remember the piece from the show and can see why you pulled the trigger. I see you've got your very own Gaia "Bryce" on that piece ; )

Great representation of the whole wheatpasters vs. graf artists battle that happens on the streets. Love how they showed mad respect to Gaia by not going over him.

That's interesting, I hadn't thought about it from that perspective. Funny, they clearly didn't give Shep the same respect.
