Some really interesting top 5's but I have to do the honours for Conor, so here goes
1 Conor Harrington 2 Banksy 3 Mark Ryden 4 Dalek 5 Colin Johnson's hypercollage
(Peter Sedgley would have been there but more of a kinetic artist)

man, with so many great artists out there it is so hard to sort them into a list! for me it is so mood dependent, but James Jean is the one artist who never ceases to amaze me. there are artists with incredible talent and technical ability and there are artists with a truly unique vision. James has a rare combination of both that i totally admire.

I replied March 6 2008 so lets see where we are today, I think my faves have changed by peoples work I own also
1. Josh Keyes ( still nothing yet but a few prints, I want something so bad I almost pulled the trigger on a horrible ebay tree thing ) 2. Jose Parla ( after getting watercolor from fellow boardie pictures do zero justice ) 3. Joe Sorren ( he seems to somehow get better with each paintings, i still stare at my work and love it ) 4. Jeff Soto ( kicking myself for not purchasing something from a boardie because at the time 3K was insane for me to spend on art, wow have we come far ) 5. Nate Frizzell ( after making my first purchase his work is great and really seems to be growing )
my first list had to say goodbye to Blaine Fontana the person who got me interested in art as a collector, and a couple others. My list should be more then 5 but not to upset Hung or be called a cheater I am sticking with 5 only

This is tough, but here goes:
Barry Mcgee Kaws Chris Johanson Ryan McGinley Tauba Auerbach
In a separate list I'd include UK artists Paul Fryer, Kate MccGwire and Polly Morgan. These two groups of artists represent the two distinct sides of the art I (aspire to) collect but they're so different that I couldn't put them in the same list.
