Hoping this is the show that sees Jen Stark joining our collection finally - just been holding out for the right piece (that isn't already sold) for a few years now... AMAZING work that must be seen in person.

Have always enjoyed here work over the years too, if only because of the insanity involved in cutting and piecing together each layer of construction paper. Really boggles the mind, especially with the works that push the dimensionality hard. This piece from Basel was so impressive. The first section of this video has Jen talking about another of the giant works from Basel. Kinda cool to see the on sight construction.

Actually always liked her felt tip pen "doodles". Had always wondered what the pricing on them was these days. Was about to grab one directly from her back in 2007 for 800 that was like 24x36. Def a healthy appreciation since then. Go figure. This pedestal piece is pretty interesting too.

Pardon my questioning but this is what you are talking about? It's from Jen right?

Hellosir - yah, that piece is from Jen.
That pedestal piece is pretty rad. How did she embed her paper work in there? Or is it still paper?

That pedestal piece is pretty rad. How did she embed her paper work in there? Or is it still paper? Just got back from the show, the pedestal piece is paper with a plexiglass surface. There was about a 1/4" gap between each layer, still not quite sure how she put it together though; but like everything, likely from the bottom up. It also had a colour changing LED light in the bottom which isn't really visible from the photos. Jen's drawings were quite refreshing in person, but her sculptural pieces definitely won over the show for me, would have liked to see more of them. I was also surprised to see the stop motion video for sale; an exclusive edition of 10 I believe?

Thanks for the interest in this exhibition. The response has been overwhelming so far. The Pedestal has definitely been a big hit. It is a wooden box with layers of hand cut paper stacked up inside (it actually relates quite well to her stop motion animation). There is also a light in the bottom which changes color. The plexiglass was put on top so mancub wouldn't spill his beer in it at the opening. The video is available in an edition of 10, we are also releasing a print of Jen's largest drawing (Double Rainbow Rainbow) in a limited edition of 50. My personal favorite piece of Jen's is Trinity. It is basically like 3 pieces in one depending on the angle you look at it.
