The lace paintings are beautiful. The other stuff is a little puzzling, but it certainly creates an interesting contrast when placed with the lace in a gallery setting.

yeah i feel you. i really enjoy the bluntness of his work. specifically with his "another painting" paintings. it seems to be a brave response to collectors and gallerists asking him for more work. so quite literally he made a painting that said "another painting" on it. i'm willing to bet they loved it and wanted more of that kind of work. hence his other works on the same theme that say "75 more paintings" etc etc. a bare bones institutional/gallery commerce critique. but i'm not sure it would be interesting at all if he wasn't already successful and involved in the art world hes boldly despising. other ideas?

Absolutely love the lace works and hope to add a couple to the collection over the next few years.

Unless the prices have jumped recently, I believe they were $10-30K based on size.

Saw the show on Wednesday. I'm not sold on all the work being stuff I'd want, or even all that important to Flood's career as an artist(quality is inconsistent), but overall it is a fantastic overview of what used-to-be a lesser known chapter of his career.
I think the strongest works were definitely the smaller collages(especially the porn), with the muted advertisements also ranging from very good to things I consider iconic, like the Ivory Snow package. The altered flea market paintings were nothing special, and this show did not feauture the best in Flood stencil works overall. His current stencils are far superior in both wit and execution(IMO).
"Roman Alter", the lace painting on the right of the picture above, is just fantastic in person. And speaking of the lace works, the early images of Flood's upcoming 'Artstar' show at Feuer look fantastic in the stark colors and minimal appearance.
All-in-all, Mark Flood is a star. That's going to take some getting used to.

If I was looking for a neat little inexpensive Mark Flood piece, I'd head to Exhibition A right now.
