stunning image ... but $1500 for a print with a run of 200? Yeah, he's kind of in the Dr. Seuss realm of pricing which is why I don't own any (by either). But to be fair, I think these are screenprints with a LOT of screens and look absolutely amazing in person. EDIT: yeah, I found mention that one of his prints used 200 screens. That comes out to a pretty damn good cost per screen ratio no matter what you compare it to.

Earle is an American Master and is an Official Disney Legend. (kinda like buying a Rockwell) This edition has over 80 screens and took around 5 months to produce. They are completely done by hand with no computers or machines. If you ever see an Earle serigraph in person you will understand the difference in quality. Earle's are not prints but Hand Pulled Serigraphs, the term "Print" tends to mean machine produced. (Giclee's are prints.) For an artist as popular as Earle an edition of 200 is really considered small unlike Seuss with editions of 850. I can understand how now days this seems expensive with so many outstanding prints in small editions selling between $100 to $300. (giclee's) Thanks everyone www.eyvindearle.com/Chronology.aspx

I own #200 of this serigraph so I can attest to the value and beauty. $1500 is a reasonable price and those who do not know Eyvind Earle's art, if you go on Ebay you will see prices around $5-$6k Today, there is a Blue Pine (#9/300) priced at $5,000 and an original priced at $50,000. Posters on Ebay go for around $250 and, of course, is not an art piece. Do not confuse a print with a serigraph (w/ COA). I am not a dealer only someone who has aquired a few decent pieces of art to enjoy. And yes, this piece is absolutely gorgeous.
