Another commission piece... probably my favorite piece by him.. by far!.. the light, tiger's expression, flowers, rusty car shell, everything is spot on.. that is one lucky commissioner right there!

I agree, sal. And to think he is only 32-33 years old. Origo has written repeatedly that Martin's growth as an artist has been quite noticeable in a very short time, and I think Loot Bag (the title of the painting posted by sleepboy) is a prime example of this. The color palette alone is a wonderful departure from many previous works. Martin wrote on his Facebook page that the " image is unapologetically darker" than his previous works, but I'm not sure that I agree with him. Perhaps it is just less subtle. It also has less negative space. If you can't tell, I am very taken with this painting.

Thanks. Kirsten at Roq la Rue has confirmed that Loot Bag will be headed my way after Martin's show in May. A long wait, but well worth it. Adding a piece by Martin to my collection was high on my list of art plans for 2014, so I'd say the new year has started with a bang. Very, very excited about this.

Wow, he seems to elevate his game to a whole new level for this show. Wish I could see it in person... I always admired his feel for color and light and seeing him now working with more bolder and more diverse palatte but at the same time staying true to his roots by composing a coherent painting mesmerizes me. He has a very bright future ahead of him if he continues like that.

It has been great working with Martin over the last couple of months and I couldn't be happier with my commission. I can't upload any attachment into a post at this time (anyone has any idea why that is?), not even a tiny one so I have used it as my avatar for now He's just too lovely not to share

Wonderful painting. Martin's roses are always a joy to see in his images, and the ones in your commission seem to jump off the canvas.
