Had a gallery day in the city today. Saw a dozen or so different artists including Jenny Saville at Gagosian and Lisa Yuskavage at Zwirner. I was without a doubt most impressed with Wittfooth's work. Very skilled painter. There are some artists work that look really good on the computer screen then when you see it in person you are disappointed. His work is so much better in person. These pics do the paintings very little justice.

The reflections on the widow of the first painting work really well. They look like they belong.

I love the addition of the monkeys causing mayhem in some of these new pieces, they really help convey the meaning and mood for me as a viewer . He is an amazingly skilled painter and I am so disappointed that I wasn't able to get by the gallery to view the show when I was in NYC two weeks ago.
