Just a tip to masao626, if you really want this piece you should bid online as soon as possible and bid using the "must have it" option. From what I read the "must have it" price is twice the retail value and since Audrey's piece is $1000 it should come out to around $4,000. Seems pretty affordable for her work at this point.

The pieces start off half of retail so half of $2000 is $1000. But double the retail would be $4,000. They are not up for auction yet, I was just reading about how the auction and pricing will work. Sorry if my first post was confusing.

So it seems like it would be best if you bid the "2x above retail price" the opening night of the auction. i'm sure audrey's piece won't need to be placed on ebay. the wording is a bit confusing, but i think they're saying that only pieces that don't reach the "2x above retail price" at the end of opening night will be put on ebay?
*i hope you get it, charity!* good luck!
Distinction Gallery is proud to host this most special gathering of artists to pay tribute to the artistic spirit and likewise honor the memory and life of Charles Leslie Walker. There will be an opening reception on August 9th from 6-11 PM featuring live music, donated catered food by A Taste of Florence, and beer provided by Karl Strauss. This showing will be presented auction style and will run for one week. Pieces that do not sell for the “must have it price” (2x above retail) will also be for auction on Ebay after opening night. The artwork will be on display for a month long. All Distinction Gallery commissions will be donated.
Please contact the gallery if you would like high res images or to set a possible interview with any of the artists.

This info is actually incorrect. I e-mailed Melissa, the Gallery Director, for clarification and this is what she wrote back: No, there is no buy it now price, those are just the retail prices, which I imagine the pieces in the most demand will go for.
Thanks again, MelissaSo no need to bid up these pieces to astronomical levels, not yet at least. ;D
