Her work seems to be an offshoot of Sam Falls' work. Imparting a sense of place via natural elements and time. Or am I missing something novel here?

What a collection harveyn ! What's great about your pics is that there always seems to be a similarly impressive chair or lamp standing next to the artworks ;-)

Lovely Parla. One of the nicest I have seen. Looking for one just like that. How big is that beauty?

Buying spree?! Great Roa, it isn't from Dorothy Circus Gallery? Also like the Biojo. Who's the artist of the piece above the Roa, please?
Congratulation on an ever increasing collection.

I have had this BORF canvas for 6 months pinned to the wall while I decided how to get it stretched. After several visits to the framer with the canvas rolled I just could not work out the best way to stretch the image on standard stretchers (Gallery, Museum or Standard Wrap). In the end I decide to hang it as the artist painted it stretched flat on a piece of wood with no wrap so I would not be loosing any of the image. I ordered up a large sheet of 1" ply and then doubled the depth to 2". I then painted the ply matt black and stretched the canvas flat on the solid piece of wood stapled in the traditional way. The next problem I was faced with was how to suspend a very heavy and large piece of artwork (77" x 54"). I bought some industrial lifting eyelets (2 tonne load capacity) for the look I was trying to achieve rather than load capacity and fixed them to the top of the wood using a custom stainless steel plate. Fairly happy with how it all turned out and nice to play a more active role in the process. Please excuse the Polyfilla marks on the wall above which will be sanded and painted in this evening... [/p]
It is suspended on large bolts so that it sits 0.5" out from the wall to avoid the skirting board.
Certainly not going to give up my day job but its been fun working on a couple of frames for two works the last few months.
I was struggling with how to frame this original on wood by Jose Parla so in end I sanded back the rough edges on the crate it came in from Jose (nice stamp marks etc on the side) and painted the inside matt black. I then mounted the crate directly onto the wall and the artwork is suspended on custom wooden batons I made.

Got my Lucas Price oil on canvas back from Irelands finest canvas stretchers. Its a complete art in their hands. All their wooden stretchers are profiled on site and they do some incredible work (frames inside frames) from a beautiful 19th Century old dwelling with courtyard. I then had my framer put it in a plain black tray frame. Stoked would be an understatement. One small detailed shot that still does not capture the quality of his work.

[/quote] One of the best images from DOLK, a great commentary to this era.

And I really like the Lucas Price, isn't he autodidact? He got notable skills.
