I think what's interesting is some of those sculptures made from US currency are already inherently worth over $1-2K because of the materials used. I wonder what the highest amount he's used before in a piece.

I could be wrong but I think that most of them are stacks of ones totaling $100

The Skull Cube piece teased on AM is comprised of 1500 dollars.

I stand corrected, the one in my house is a single stack equal to $100

Yeah, would love to see an image of the one you own too. Unfortunately, I'm fairly new to his work. But I think these things are awesome and would love to add one to the collection.

Haha, you guys should follow me on twitter ( twitter.com/showtellgallery ), I post up photos of my collection from time to time. Once I actually take the time to take non iphone photos of my collection I will start a thread on here. The money stacks are fantastic. I love the concept. His concepts are great. I'm going to try to make the show opening. Simon... Can't wait to see more of your collection. I use the same excuse about not starting a collection thread. You make some time and I'll make some too!

like his work a lot and can appreciate the skill however hanging such a piece wouldn't be for me. I say this regarding his laser cut work. I suppose it's really no different then spending money on any other work but there is something about the in your face nature of literally hanging $1,000 on your wall. I guess I work to hard for my money to truly appreciate this.

Scott's dollar bill sculptures are rad, especially after seeing them in person. I would have copped one if I'm not working on a house.

Really... I'll have to check it more closely next time. I'm sure Scott will touch that up if that ever happens. Most artists are fine with fixing their paintings.

it was very subtle....forget which piece it was now. i thought his smaller bill pieces were the most effective.

i noticed at the show that one of the stacks was starting to come unglued a little bit. This is done deliberately by Scott. He only glues the middle 2/3s or so of the bills tops and bottoms together, so as to leave the edges unglued and have a less compressed and more natural stacked look and feel.

Sounds like this guy needs to grow up a little. It's a professional artist's job to be just that, a professional, IMO. If I were a gallery I would be turned off showing him for sure.

Maybe the show was poorly executed and no respect was given to the works and artist? Not sure what really happened but it should have been huge for an artist to burn his works.......
