I am in the process of purchasing a tablet PC, and know nothing about computers. my processor options are either intel core duo, or intel core solo. now before you answer please know it will be used for the following. Internet, and school, it will not be running a number of programs at once. so how mush faster is the duo compared to solo.
thanks

I do some level of graphics using 3D programs. And there is an option of running both core (a dual core) processors to run renderings and at most times, it cuts the waiting time to half.
So, yes there is a very apparent difference in this case.
I think it is possible to separate certain programs to run them simultaneously on separate processors. So it depends on whether you have a need for such 'speed'.

You might need it. I do a huge amount of graphics works and what not, and I haven't used mine to the fullest potential yet. As far as the Solid State drive goes, I would get that. You are seeing a drop in the size, but solid state is so much safer for all your files. You should also be doing periodic backups onto dvd anyway, which will also save space on your 64 gig.

Here is a site with a little comparison. www.gottabemobile.com/CommentView,guid,1dfca464-4f18-4d89-94ca-62a53011c1a2.aspx

64 hard drive gig isn't much nowadays, even jpeg image files taking up huge volume of space. Most importantly is not to stuff your hard drive and leave it with minimal space for windows or whatever you're running the resources to keep it at good speed.
So yes, if you're going to back your files out into an external drive, no worries on a 64.

Thanks Nick, 64 gig solid state is more like 80 gig regular ( how that works I have no idea ) but i save nothing to my computer hard drive, even the laptop I have now, for school I save everything to my flash drive, and for everything else it goes to an external hard drive. On my current laptop i have nothing saved on it picture or music wise, I do not even have any programs witht the exception of windows. Well I am off to purchase my computer
