i contacted tin a little while ago and he said he was booked solid. I was very excited to hear that but sad at the same time :-p
Just based off the email he sent he was incredibly humble as well and also surprised.
Such amazing pieces, wishing I could get in line for one. Charity's piece (third one down on original post) was what first got me onto him.

BAM! The (Sinister) Botanist; 16"x20 I commissioned tin to paint me an evil, yet sultry, scientist with a green thumb for genetically engineering deadly toxic plants. Wow, did he exceed every expectation I had set...and I'll admit I had an idea he would absolutely kill the concept I threw at him. So this is a treat! The detail and effort exhibited is unreal!! Can't wait for it to arrive.

Thanks, Charity. It was definitely your cheerleading for Tin that compelled me to pursue this commission. SO happy I did, and in turn so grateful you raised my attention to him. Good stuff!
The piece is 16"x20", which seems to be the largest scale he's most comfortable working with...and I take it, is also the same size as your first commission, which I must say you've framed up stupendously. I'm away from home at the moment, but apparently it just showed up yesterday and looks amazing in person. Can't wait to check it out. The attention to detail certainly looks mindboggling.
I wish Tin the best and look forward to him truly finding his stride in the coming year and really taking off! He most certainly has the painterly skills for such a newcomer. He just needs to find his stylistic niche, and he's obviously on the right track.

A little birdie told me that Tin is signing up with Camilla d'Errico's rep. Who apparently also scored that hotly-contested color piece in the Roq la Rue show. (...gossip, gossip...)

Tin creates beautiful artwork... I am excited seeing those creatures in those works in progress pictures that were posted by masao - very original and so well done, I personally would like to see more of those creatures intertwining with those beautiful female figures, just my 2 cents. How does everyone feel about the exclusive black and white palette? I am kind of curious if you see it as a strength or a weakness... it already has given Tin a strong identity.

I like the B&W/sepia, definitely one of the things that make him unique. I think some recent pieces he used more color but I can't remember where I saw it. Roq La Rue? Yes, I like those semi-mechanical creatures as well.

nice concept, not a girl, and full color! Amen! That piece is DOPE!... so ironic, ever since I made that comment about the black & white palette I have seen like 4 full color pieces by Tin that are incredible. I can't wait to see some of these in person -

Some great stuff for sure... I am looking forward to Tin's contribution to the Paper Pushers show coming up at Gallery 1988 - will be fantastic if they are anything like the samples that were provided in the blog.

tin really does come across as very humble and gracious, for sure. I emailed him a few months back asking for some advice, and on the flip side of the whole conversation, he invited me to show with him and Jenna Colby at the Black Maria Gallery in February 2009. He had some helping hands when he was starting the climb and he's come full circle by extending his support to someone else. Awwwee....I sound all mushy! ;D But seriously, he's an extremely talented artist whose work keeps getting better and better with every piece, I'm really enjoying watching his growth.
