Congrats to Colen - he's the first artist in the "Bowery School"/"Warhol's Children" group to have a piece publicly sell for a million dollars. As someone who has been following these guys for years, it seems like a major milestone and I wonder who will be next.

True. Though it's funny, because he isn't technically one of 'Warhol's children'.

True. Though it's funny, because he isn't technically one of 'Warhol's children'. Perhaps we should define the scope of whom we think should be included in the same discussion. To start off, here are my artists: Dan Colen Dash Snow Ryan McGinley Nate Lowman Joe Bradley Agathe Snow further related: Aaron Young Adam McEwen Hanna Liden Terence Koh

I really like this new piece by Colen. A return to oil and realism:

Look at the comments on this video:
Makes you realize anyone buying this kind of art for a lot of $$$ is really a sucker. Gum on a canvas. He admits he doesn't put any thought into it.

Love those flowers. I think they look aamzing! Still i don't understand why he has another huge piece at auction in Phillips day sale...while his previous assistant (Lucien Smith) opens the evening sale!! If someone has the answer..? Here is the link www.phillips.com/detail/DAN-COLEN/NY010813/142

Let's see if anyone cares about Lucien's work in five years when he's not the youngest guy on the "scene" anymore.

Will, isn't it an awesome place? I first got up there for the Urs Fischer 'Oscar the Grouch' exhibition.
Any particular reason for a Shiro Kuramata "Miss Blanch" chair, aside from being an awesome design piece? Was it incorporated into a Colen work?
