Not just you. The current show is horrible. It aims for transcendence, and misses badly.
The last Colen Gagosian show was the single worst thing I have ever seen in the amazing space that is Gagosian on 24th, and is only surpassed as 'worst Gagosian show' by the Vezzoli monstrosity at Gagosian 21st back in 2011.

Needs to go back to the work he was making at Rivington Arms and early Peres shows, which had way more personal attention to detail. His work has become so tame and blatantly assistant produced, much like the work of a lot of young artists that get shoved into the mega-gallery machine. Would be interesting to see what he would be making if he were showing at a smaller, but reputable gallery.
