Hey everyone, just a bit of an announcement about the gallery. Some of you have heard, but project: is upgrading to a larger venue and merging with the former Lab 101 gallery.
We are VERY excited about the move, and are already booking some amazing international artists into the gallery for 09 - along with the expanding "team project" artists.
Some of the press release below:
The Cerasoli : leBasse Gallery open their inaugural show October 11th
Two major Culver City Galleries will merge to become the Cerasoli : leBasse
Gallery and will launch their inaugural show October 11th 2008. Over the
past six years, both galleries have brought the most exciting cutting-edge
contemporary artists to the Los Angeles art world. Launched as a merger
between Project: and The Cerasoli Gallery (formerly The Lab101), the
partnership combines the strongest work from both galleries rosters.
The Inaugural Exhibition titled 'Blender' will feature artworks by Melissa
Haslam, Vincent Hui, Mari Inukai, Ryuichi Ogino and Deth P Sun in Gallery I.
Gallery II will feature Jennifer Davis and Suzanne Sattler.
The selection of artists in Gallery I reflects the second wave of young
emerging Asian painters. Hailing from China and Japan these artists are
exploring the juxtaposing cultures of east and west in their daily lives and
artwork. In contrast to Gallery I, Gallery II features two outstanding
female artists depicting feminine characters in a whimsical world.
The opening reception will take place on Saturday October 11th 7-10p
