Hope you all take the time to watch these seven videos because I found them extremely fascinating. Best I've seen of any artist taking people on tour of their own show.

Looks like he's working on some new work for the Gagosian in Rome for a show next month.

The original price was around $1,500 (150,000 yen).
As for where it was first available for sale, not sure... April 2009 from Kaikiki gallery?

Does anyone have a recommendation on where to buy Murakami prints from North America? I am looking for some versions of the DOB print and the 727-272 print, but been only finding them in UK and Japanese sources.

yeah, anyone has ANY idea about the price of this piece!? His work doesn't really get offered publicly, so primary market prices are hard to ascertain. I'm also not rubbing elbows with anyone who'd have a crack at them. But I'd suspect around 250k or more. There were a few paintings that came up for auction in the Phillips Contemporary sale last May, albeit all were a handful of years old and well known pieces, that sold in the 500k range.

I just had a chance to buy a 727-272 for a decent price but it had a little print stain on the back and one of the edges are slightly blunt. I am on the fence on this matter. Do you guys have any suggestions?

arttattler.com/Images/NorthAmerica/California/Los%20Angeles/MOCALA/Murakami/bild_02.jpgThis link goes to: " The Castle of Tin Tin " 1998 by Takashi Murakami. Acrylic on canvas mounted on board. Size: 9 feet 10 1/8 inches X 9 feet 10 1/8 inches. NOTE: Another awesome work by Murakami I haven't seen before ( how in the world did I miss this great work ? ). The thin line in the middle where the two panels meet is a nice poetic repeat of the totem-like image....so, it works !! Usually, I feel the line ( created when two panels meet ) distracts from the overall image. _________________________________________________________ Signed: Robert Singletary__Thursday February 24, 2011__12:45 A.M.
