that price is insane jp - i would struggle to comprehend that cost if it was being sent to me in the uk. each piece does seem to have its own price for shipping though and your piece does state 150. just had a look at a couple of other pieces shipping insurance cost and they seem completely random.... the m. barney lot valued at 12k is 40 to ship in the usa, and is a similar size to your item for example. some thing else of a much lower value, but admittedly larger size is 185 in the usa. random.
i only looked at the shipping cost for the seonna hong piece - that was 20 in the usa, so i figured max 50 to the uk, but that doesn't matter now anyway since i slept!

I picked up the Mike Davis drawing. I was blown away by the shipping cost. I live in SoCal and the piece is in SoCal yet they are trying to charge me $150 for shipping. Wondering is anyone else is being ripped off as well. Shipping was insane. I emailed them right away when I got the invoice. They responded that the piece is in SF, which I thought was weird given that I thought it would have stayed in LA after having been at the auction party in LA last weekend. I'll be fine with the shipping cost if it turns up in a crate with balloons and gift certificate to my favorite restaurant. Otherwise, shipping cost is beyond ridiculous.

I had bid on the Mike Davis piece but you beat me out. Now I'm glad I didn't win it. I won a bigger piece and they are "only" charging me $45 for shipping.

CharityBuzz does not list the ending sale prices, you have to watch them end live. I think the Josh Keyes piece went for $7,500 or $8,500 don't quite remember. I picked up the "Bambi was a Dude" set. ( www.charitybuzz.com/catalog_items/1052062) With so many great things available, I opted to go for something by an artist that I'm wholly unfamiliar with, and that I figured wouldn't go for too high of a price. Due to the "popcorn" bidding process, I wound up sitting at the computer for a half hour after the announced end time battling it out with another person. Just got an email from CB saying I won, for $600 I scored four 12"x12" ink on wood, three pieces on masonite and a nifty looking print. Pretty happy about it all... except for the shipping costs. $60 isn't that bad, but I live about 15 minutes away from the Juxtapoz offices, seems a bit steep when put into perspective. I guess the second half of the auction is going live in a couple days, anyone know what's going to be listed then?

If you simply email/call Charity Buzz, I'm sure that they can iron out the shipping details with you because that's what I did as I was able to ask nicely if I could pick my Kadel piece up in SF location.

I picked up the Charlie Isoe and the Monica Canilao pieces.
I like them a lot, especially the Canilao, who I've wanted something by for a long time, and the hammer prices were much less than I expected..

The Todd Bratrud pig piece. I never heard of him before but it was a cool little piece I'll put in my office.
Bid on the AJ Fosik, Chatham, Keyes and Gossel but lost out on them all. Just as well - I probably couldn't afford the postage.
Considering their is no auction premium on these items I guess I can understand them wanting to recoup some of their labor and misc expenses on the postage.

I really dug that Gossel piece. Really like his current use of bolder color. Have 3 of his pieces. How much did it go for?
Wonder if this is going to start up the Gossel is a poor man's Faile discussion again.

Wow! Nice pickups! I'm a big Morning Breath fan, bet the piece will look great in person. That's a pretty absurd shipping quote, you should contact CharityBuzz about combining shipping. They're super nice and responded rather quickly when I reached out about my shipping costs (just going to pick up in SF).

From Jux: "The first wave of the Juxtapoz closed last Friday, raising $150,000 for Power House Project in Detroit. Thanks to everyone who bid on a piece or came out to our auction party in Los Angeles. Now we finish it all off with Phase Two."
Supposedly, items were shipped UPS yesterday. Anyone get a shipping notice? I signed into CharityBuzz and couldn't find a tracking number or anything.
Also, anyone get any updates on whether they are doing anything about the ridiculous shipping costs?

Hi! As of now, I havent received my shipping notice yet. They said they will get in touch once they have received the final shipping cost from UPS. I hope they really do something on the inflated shipping quote . This is what ive got from First Wave of Juxtapoz : Cache by Ryan Mc Lennan, Acrylic on Paper, 24 x 36 inches

They knocked 50% Off shipping for me but it was still too high. I'm picking it up in person in few weeks from the Juxtapoz studios in San Fran.
