I am not sure why you naysayers are all hot and heavy about Tauba's auction results. The fact is that Tauba has been making incredible art since 2004. Like I said awhile ago, you just have to understand what she is trying to accomplish in each piece to appreciate it.
Another quandary I have is that why Tauba is always compared to Kassay on this forum?? There are plenty of other "youngins" who are in the same boat whose auction results are through the roof. How about Matt Day Jackson, Ahmed Alsoudani, Joe Bradley and Nate Lowman, just to name a few?

I have to disagree with the "sloppy" comment. I think this piece is brilliant for the reason I stated above.
As for the auction pricing, people will pay however much they deem appropriate. It will eventually reach an equilibrium. Or will it?

The older works by TA may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, I really like the concept behind those older pieces. As for "binary lowercase", it's a brilliant piece that depicts alphabets in a 0 and 1 coding system. If you know a thing or two about binary code, you can decode this entire piece using the decoder here: www.roubaixinteractive.com/PlayGround/Binary_Conversion/Binary_To_Text.aspa white box is 0, a black box is 1, enter 8 digits at a time in the "binary to decode" textfield and see what alphabet comes out. Just a fun little exercise. Enjoy

May not be everyone's cup of tea but I love Johanson's works. Here is another one at Deitch's LA mansion from Kathy Grayson's blog today: I think it's an older piece.

What's the beef, bombaytrix? Why the character assassination? I don't know what's between you and Neil but could you take this either privately or elsewhere?

That cabinet piece is wonderful, lowpro. Sorry you won't be adding it to your collection. I admire your reasoning, however.
That really is a beautiful sculpture piece, harveyn. Congrats!
I hope Wackers will be getting some well deserved attention in this upcoming year. His show in 2006 was one of the picks by artforum.

Ai Weiwei sings Caonima at his fans’ request. The iPad video has lyrics that may be interpreted as “f- your mother” in certain tones and contains slang for “f- your mother’s vagina.” It is probably directed at the Chinese government. effing hilarious and gutsy... I just love this guy. apparently chinese government is now accusing Ai and his assistants for "manufacturing pornography"
