Awesome, lots of new things coming in the near future.
-America's Cup, prelims at the end of the year I think, and finals at the end of next year, lotsa new stuff being built around the water in preparation for that. -Transbay center is going to start construction soon and highspeed rail if that ever gets approved. -Golden State Warriors is moving to SF in 2014 (or 2015?) and they're building a stadium for them on the pier. -Uniqlo opening a store in Union Square, yay. -Startups are migrating towards SF (from Silicon Valley). -SFMOMA is getting an extension, but will be shut down temporarily during construction. (http://www.sfmoma.org/our_expansion/expansion_design)
-Rent here sucks.

I pulled the trigger on the Frizzell piece that was in the sell section a couple weeks ago. Some people mentioned in the Frizzell post that the image looked flat, but it doesn't really come off that way in person. I think it might have just been the jpg.

Alright, I recently picked up this Scott Sheidly's 'Pope' after some debate with my wife. Looking forward to seeing it in person. Scott looks to be a superb portrait artist and love the way the colors manipulate. I'd be curious to hear other's take on this....I think it's one of those absolutely love vs. absolutely hate pieces. I love - my wife hates, it'll be going in my office Big thanks to Ken on here for this one. Cheers Ken! Personally I would fucking love to hang this in my bathroom. Right at eye level when you are sitting down to take a shit. Thats not a criticism, I think the piece is perfect for that. I don't think I'd be able to do my thing in front of that.

Nice drawings. I've always liked these types with the midtone paper and the light and dark pencils. Some of the faces on the pieces in your store site look a bit rough but most are spot on.

Thanks, I talked to Beau, but I'd much prefer the entire piece not just the mask. Hoping someone here has one stored away somewhere

While I don't have the price list, they did tell me at the end of April that there were only 3 paintings left, one being Guardians at $22k.
Only drawing left at that time was "Anchors Away" for $500.
Hope that helps.

So I've been wondering this for a while now. But does anyone know why his prints are so difficult to find on the secondary market when compared to many other artists that release prints with similar limited quantities?
I've been tracking him a few years now and I don't think I've ever seen prints like Swan, Excavation, Forest, and Rickshaw pop up even once. Tango is on ebay now, and Ballad and Toymaker comes up every now and then, although less and less frequently.

Agreed, I really like how it turned out, with the doorway framing the piece and all.

Love your collection, especially the Tessar Lo, Berens pieces. That Malavia sketch is pretty crazy too
