anybody get the print? I don't understand why Mark would even consider putting out an edition of that masterpiece at the drawing stage when he could've done a framed giclee on canvas of the completed painting like the old days. I would have been first in line! I'm very disappointed Can you imagine it? What a waste IMO... jIm i have been told by some sellers that he stopped doing those glicee on canvas peices because they looked too much like the original. The ebay seller told me that he said this in a interview once. could be a marketing ploy by the seller, but i am not too sure.

Love Laruie's work. I find it insane that she does not do any smudgeing whatsoever and yet gets her transitions so crisp. I love Death and the Maiden. Shes very cool as well.

dealing with Joe fo two purcases I am not 100 percent sure he is aware of him being a nice guy hes a mean person then j/k hey high brow, Joe is an incredibly nice guy, as is his wife. As an aritst i can never forget the advice he gave me on how to choose the correct paints not based on popularity but how they feel to you, and he and Sean Christopher have gotten me hooked on old holland. he also did a drawing for me, which ill post up soon does anyone know if he still does painting commisions? Does Joe know about this? yep. oh wait his wife being a nice guy thing, ahh typos. so anything on the commissions?

I found out about Ana through john purlias website when i was searching for whoever had the princess sputnik piece, back in early 2005 or so and I came across a few of Ana's peices, i was like cool, a Mark Ryden that is possibly in my budget range. I then later found she was from my home town of Burbank. i was very stoked to find she was one of my old elementry school friends(3rd -5th grade) Even back in elementry school, she was very talented, i remember the swans painting she did for show and tell back then. So thanks to John i recconected with her and bought my first peice from her "there there" show www.anabagayan.com/Paintings/ThereThere/swat.htmand this one www.billyshirefinearts.com/08Bagayan/chuck.htmlI got this one for a friend www.flickr.com/photos/2winks/1832661212/in/set-72157602862019339/she also was really awesome at doing some drawing commisions for me of her paintings for my other friends. shes super sweet and awesome! always has been svenman you were there at the orphans show? wish i knew would have loved to meet up with you.

There’s so much Mark Ryden in this thread! I would love to meet him so much! For me it’d be like meeting a rock star! <3 he and his wife(Marion) are very nice and humble people. truly care about their fans. I remember meeting them at Jessicka's(who also is a awesome person as well, very much like Ryden) show last year in April. I introduced myself to him and let him know about how i was buying one of his peices. He was intrested to know which one, because i was not buying it from a gallery. When i told him it was from one of his former assistants, he immeditatly asked me what the peice was, because that, that person that I was buying the piece from, has forged his signature on his works before, and tried to sell his works as authentic, and that he (Mark) hated his guts, and has cheated him. He was never offically his assitant and only knew him through the mendenhall gallery, though later i found out through a few other of Ryden's close associates he was his assistant and that he indeed tried to forge his works, or sell his works without acknowlegment to him, so he burned bridges with Mr. Ryden. When i told him it was the Nirvana sketch, he told me that, that was indeed authentic and he was very glad it was going to a better home, and to next time let he or Jessicka know if i was buying a peice second market that was not from one of his authorized galleries, because he did not want me to get ripped off, like i almost did. though for insurance purposes i am getting it authenticated at the Khohn gallery, even though Mr. Keech, and of course Mr. Ryden assured me it was authentic. We had a great conversation later about how people should learn of the other influences such as Bougerou, Ingres, and other places he could get hand carved frames from such as Sri-lanka. He laughed when I told him of how I offered Debi, one of my kidneys or a lung for one of his peices. His kids Jasper and Rosie are also very cool. hope you do get to meet him. Hes truly just a normal down to earth person with an incredible talent. i need to put up the elementry school class picture which has me and Anahit in it (Ana Bagayan)

Hi, found this site on google whilst serching for anyone other than that ebay seller, who is selling the spectaculum carnis print portfolio.
Great to see some old faces from the other board on here (limited addiction), ie Sevnman, sleepboy, oldfartplay, massao, excellent virtu, highbrow and some old friends as well, ie Collector59 aka Debi, Hi Debi this is me Panda. And hello again all.
as for those who dont know me, i am an artist and collector(of art, and other things, such as the odd and unusual), though i spend more time and money on collecting than i do on my own peices, and thus it leaves me in the poor house (even with being a student) many a time but hey i am proud of my modest collection, which grows daily. Although i always make that promise that THIS will be my last peice and i WILL spend my money on my own paintings... never works out that way . I will post soon the pictures soon, though, not many pictures as I cannot find my camera battery but it will suffice until i find the camera battery.
looking forward to re-connecting with ya all and making some new friends as well.
cheers -D
