If any of you all are in the LA area, you should definitely go to the restaurant Equator Cafe. Great food and as an added bonus Mr. Hussar's work is on display there. Several famous pieces including the one in number seven of Masso's first post. It is in Pasadena right next to where the Mendenhall gallery used to be.

those are really nice *drooling* I really really can't wait to see his show. It'll be an interesting opening. pics for us if you can please as for the invite, mine should be arriving in the mail as should anyone who is on the mailing list or who is on the list for the drawings. One of my friends who scored himself a drawing said he didnt even get one as well, and he has been a ryden collector since 1999 i believe (has the gold girl drawing, snow yak with babies and a few others) his name is john purlia look up his website . My own Ryden OG should be paid off soon. (this one ) That is if... some other stuff can be settled as well. If not the money will be used for a drawing at one of his other shows.

I like how shes going more with modeligh the face now . I also wonder if in her technique how she outlines her outer parts of her figure and main parts soo well, she must paint those parts very slowly and with a liner brush, anyone know?

the Ryden seems like it was a study or he did it pretty quickly because of the detail. Either way that is a pretty good price for an artist whose similar works go for $10k for the smallest piece and its great that someone got to get a Ryden at a major gallery show and know its authentic with the abundance of forgeries out there of his work.

ordered my new 27 inch imac today. i'm thinking that its gonna be huge and i'll have to move a couple of paintings around on the wall in front of my desk to fit the thing in. yes you will but it will be worth it. its not however as big as the 30 inch mac monitor, and a mac pro.

i wonder if anyone has ever really done any interviews with Mark Parker, i mean that guy has a REAL collection of REAL works IMHO by REAL artists, all he needs is a few bougerous, a few rennissance peices, and hes set. alot of those dudes that i saw on forbes did not IMHO have any works by REAL artists, except for paul allen.

Hi Debi, great to have you hear.
And yeah I agree with low pro, Bytor, and stevenica about the texture on his paintings. i always wonder how he eliminates them from his website pics, when he does not use photoshop THAT much. Also i like how in the second picture it says its oil on canvas but its actually cradled panel lol.

Panditha, I would also agree about the preview list for next year. I know there are going to be a fair number of smaller 18X18 works but am sure with Sorrens work they will be pricey however do know I have one work from him and the images on the internet do it zero justice to the see the works in person are breath taking, I had to save and sacrifice for mine and can never see myself getting tired of it I often spend time just looking at all the little details. A Sorren work will be a great investment both finical and for your eyes I think i indeed agree, especially about how internet pictures do zero justice in regards to seeing it in person. i remember seeing "why am I the only one still jazzercising" and the way the brush strokes captured the light was amazing, very jewel like. I saw that in the work you commissioned from him. From what i was told by i believe Thru-thinking, that the prices are based around, foot. And since it will take me a while to gather funds for say the same price as one being sold in a gallery, by then, his work IMHO will be as exclusive as Ryden's work meaning, they will sell out even before the preview list is up. Which is another reason why I am currently wondering if he does still do commissions. even the drawing he did for me, of me, i still treasure, simple as it may be, its just too cool .

well, i know he is working on a series of smaller pieces - something like 18x18 for one of his upcoming shows. ah i was thinking 8x10 or smaller, or a w/c painting like the one you got.

panditha, if you are looking to pick up a piece by joe sorren, i'd suggest getting on joshua liner's preview list for the show that joe has at the gallery next year. i think josh has a couple of pieces in inventory too. cool. i do though want a commission due to i am looking for a smaller piece, due to my budget restrictions, which totally sucks, cause i would love a larger piece. Thanks for the heads up. I emailed joe about it, have not heard back yet, because i am pretty sure he is busy. Should have done so when he was a bit more acessible
