for a print? some one has got to get a better art consultant. Honestly, I wouldn't pay 50,000 pounds for the OG of this - except to re-sell it at a profit. Not that I buy and sell art for profit. I do appreciate a lot of what Banksy has produced in the past, but $74,000 for a print just sounds like flipper hype on a grand scale. then again, perhaps i'm the Fool and the buyer is an art visionary? it's certainly possible. ;D

Tough one to moderate actually this guys.... Personally I don't post 'preview' links asi understand where you guys are coming from on this. Some galleries actively ask people not to repost details of previews, and if I was aware of this and a link had gone up then I'd take it down.... However some galleries want to put out the fact that the work is available and actually post details directly themselves. I'm not on every gallerys mailing list let alone preview list and I'm sure the other mods are similar. Well make a concerted effort to watch out for what we know should not be posted.

probably banksy's most coveted print, especially the paper edition. these have a history of selling at high value. i've seen one before and they are pretty great. sure 50k is a lot though, but whoever bought it probably feel really good about it!

I remember one of the Kate's selling for around $175K a couple years ago. Definitely Banksy's most sought after print. I would love to have it adorning my walls. It is an absurd amount of dough but who's to say what will happen in the future. This might look like a bargain.

i must say though - i do enjoy the irony that this is a print of an original, that isn't intended to be particularly original. kind of clever, i suppose.

absolutely. probably one of the most copied / plagiarised / recreated / subverted - call it what you will - images of modern times. i think banksy's image was particularly pertinent to its time of creation when kate moss was probably the most famous, beautiful and typically british model of our generation. she represented rebellion and was embodied anti-establishment behaviour, choosing to rip it up night after night. banksy brought warhol's image kicking and screaming into modern london. unfortunately, a lot of the later 'homages' within the street art scene are based upon banksy's work rather that warhol's original and have no teeth whatsoever. i'd say that this print is nearly as iconic as the original piece of work it was based upon. is it worth 50k though? who knows... it certainly was to the person that bought it. and btw epicfai - we welcome constructive criticism from either side of the coin here wholeheartedly run free.

that's interesting. any idea when banksy's piece was originally done? maybe it impacts me less having only really been exposed to his work more recently. cheers

I supposed the only thing which didn't happen to it.... is. Kate is ("unfortunately" some may say) Still ALIVE. It's an iconic image of our times... more so (yes ! cough) than Faireys Charity Hope 'lawsuitfest' image. Is it worth it ? Does it matter ? It was to the (original) buyer .... before he sold it !!! I'd have it on my wall - but not, alas, at that price - hey I'm as stoney as the next person.

It's an iconic image of our times... more so (yes ! cough) than Faireys Charity Hope 'lawsuitfest' image. Yes, the Kate Moss Banksy changed the world by urging millions of young people to – for the very first time – elect a party girl fashion model president of the world's most powerful (and fattest) country. Anorexics everywhere cheered. What a historical moment!
