On the bright side, looks like he failed and got neg feedback as a result. feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=thingznmore81The Kawasaki drop really sucked though. I got there 2 hours early and didn't have a chance at the large at all. Only people who got it had to have heard some rumor about tickets going out early or something.

Great list but it will be very difficult to get it done obviously. But good thing with your plan as they are separate pieces so you can be flexible. Also, some artists are hesitant to paint three-dimensional surfaces. It might be better to ask artists who have done customs before. No doubt, that is why I labeled it a dream list. Even if it were possible to coordinate, there is no way in hell I could afford it. I do agree with the advice on 3-D surfaces and will be focused on artist that have shown that they will do such things. Thanks Hung.

I am bummed. My husband purchased the print "To You from my View" for an early birthday gift but it arrived damaged.

Currently I’m torn between putting almost all of my collection up for sale to give myself a large boost in the savings account towards the purchase of a home/condo but then I’d have a home with more space to display things & none of the pieces I loved & collected to actually display.

is anyone here a member of independent-collectors.com? wondering what's actually on there once you're logged in, seems pretty interesting. wasn't comfortable with the amount of detail they ask you to go into when signing up so filled it with false info, doubt my application will get approved

Well, they meant well.. which might not be how it has been interpreted by many.. but hey. I jest of course. Should be a lesson to all of us. Diy costs lives, cutting corners causes accidents.. etc etc. Talking of which, afrok.. !! fine work, watch out for 'the light'.. though you don't get much up there.. :-)

oh yes!.. great stuff.. was wondering when something like that will pop up.. and since the 1st time I saw the "fixed" image, it reminded me of Cartman, so this South Park one is spot on..

Prints on Wood's shipping is a touch expensive. Nearly $13.00 for a 6x6 $25.00 print. I'd buy the cute Jeff Soto prints more often, but I cannot really justify the shipping cost.

I've been wondering if there are any contemporary painters who are well known for focusing on pieces depicting Revolutionary America. That time period fascinates me... and I would love to see how modern artists handle the subject matter.

Your post made me instantly think of Larry Rivers 'Washington Crossing the Delaware'. there is a flash presentation from the foundation here: www.larryriversfoundation.org/seminal_ss.htmlMoMA has this work and many of the studies as well.

Thanks for the link, mose. Had never seen that before. I grew up in Connecticut and have seen the original John Trumbull "The Declaration of Independence" that is at Yale University. This is the small version that the large piece that hangs in the rotunda of the Capitol is based on. The famous image, of course, graces the back of the $2 bill. artgallery.yale.edu/pages/collection/popups/pc_amerps/details01.htmlThe work of men of the era and after... like Trumbull, Leutze etc is so romanticized. What got me thinking about this was Josh Keyes' "Sirens", which prominently depicts a statue of George Washington from NYC in it. Obviously I understand Sirens is making another comment altogether, but it's interesting to see the use of any early American imagery/iconography in contemporary pieces. I just thought there might be someone out there who had grabbed that concept and ran with it.
