My collection is modest compared to most of the ones here, but since I'm new I thought I'd go ahead and post photos of some of my pieces as I've enjoyed viewing everyone elses. Aside from one or two, most of the pieces are by street artists: Herakut Hera (sans Akut) Faile [Stencil Monoprint] Jose Parla Swoon Robert Parke Harrison Ian Francis Doze Green Elbow Toe Elbow Toe Claudio Ethos Claudio Ethos Shepard Fairey Lucy McLauchlan Cleon Peterson Titi Freak Titi Freak Gaia

Maybe modest isn't the right word, but I've only been collecting a few years so my collection doesn't have the depth or number of works as many other forum members. Thanks for the kind words though.

yeah, modest my hairy bum! thanks for sharing such an awesome collection. some real gems you have there. you've made some very considered buys along the way. i bet when you look at the parla piece you can't help but smile!! i'd be interested to know which is your favourite amongst these. i know the harrison image - it seems very familiar.... is it from a record cover or something?

It's bit like picking your favorite child -- not sure I have one. Though I have to say that the Parla is one of my favorites and the one that I wake up to every morning as it hangs directly across from my bed ;D As for the Harrison image, you are right, Pink Floyd's "Delicate Sounds of Thunder" looks remarkably similar:

rkitek,
Welcome to the board. Thanks for taking the time to share. Your collection is avg if you compare it to Gaggosian maybe... but you've made quite the first impression.
-You're Parla is gorgeous. Love the purple in there. You got a higher res pic of that?
-Herakut is great looking. -When is that Ian Francis from? recent or a few years back? -Saw that Supine at the NIA show. His stuff on the black wood background is solid. -Like the elbow toe. How big is it? -your titifreak on paper is one of my favorites that I've seen. How big is that?
cheers, T

How big is that? cheers, T Thanks, you guys are much too kind. As for you questions T, let's see . . . - I'll have to see if I can dig up a higher resolution photo of the Parla or take some new ones. - I think Herakut's work just keeps getting better - I got this piece from their show at Carmichael Gallery this past year. - The Ian Francis is from the "Super Coma Fantasy" show at the former Blk/Mrkt in August 2007. It actually was one of two charcoal on canvas pieces he brought out for the show -- Jana has the other. - I'm really looking forward to getting the Supine home and up on the wall. - Not sure which Elbow Toe you mean but the collage piece is about 11" x 17" - while the mylar piece is quite big, about 3' x 8' (it's not yet framed). - I'm really fond of that particular Titifreak piece myself. I got it from Choque Cultural Gallery in Brazil awhile back. It's actually done on a sake box and it's about 11" x 15". Looking forward to seeing his piece(s) at the upcoming Sao Paulo show at Scion. I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to explore the board a bit more in depth as I've found some great art and good discussions so far. Hope I can add to both.

Thanks rhinomilk. I was fortunate enough to pick up that Faile at NIA when they had their show with Swoon and Ellis. It's a hand painted and stenciled monoprint over an old silkcreen background and it's pretty big -- about 38" x 50". My photo really doesn't do it justice.
I'm pretty sure that the breast cast painted by Lucy is actually a cast of Shaney Jo Darden, the Executive Director of the Keep A Breast Foundation. This was from a few years ago but I remember that Shepard Fairey did a cast of his wife when she was pregnant -- as I recall, it was a really nice piece.

Forgot to post this one before -- Pointman drawing by Futura (excuse the glare). Thinking of reframing with black mat and black frame - thoughts?

You might think about doing a double mat with a thin inner black mat and then the outer mat being white and the frame black.

Thanks. Ziggy1, that's not a bad idea -- I'll have to play around with it a bit until I get the right feel.
