lovely!
I wonder if I'm still on the preview list from being on it for her last Thinkspace show but not being high enough to be able to get anything.

There are going to be a whole lot of people in the same boat... Thinkspace is expecting 13 pieces and has more than 150 collectors on the waiting list. Half of them are going to walk away without even a print, since the print run is limited to 75.

I wonder if I'm still on the preview list from being on it for her last Thinkspace show but not being high enough to be able to get anything. That's how I lucked out on the Smitten show. Was on a earlier list where I couldn't buy anything then I bumped up for the next show...I didn't even remember LOL. Andrew surprised me when he called. That was also the beginning of the end, after that large purchase, further large purchases didn't seem like it was that much...doh!

We received the images today... WOW. Just awaiting for a few more framed images and confirming pricing now. Hope to have the preview out this Sunday if all goes as I hope and then we'll start reaching out to folks starting on Mon once all have had the chance to see the preview, since many get at their work addresses I'm aware.
It's a beautiful show. Look for some further behind the scenes pics of her working on her installation and more to be posted early next week on our Flickr and I think VinyPulse will be posting some exclusive sneak peaks early next week too.

Superb! Really like closed-eyes animals. You don't get to seem them in this state unless they're asleep.
The background looks like a typical chinese mountainious landscape.

Nice enough stuff, but I was surprised by the prices. I hope the show sells out for Amy...but I certainly won't be surprised if it doesn't.

We spoke about the pricing with Amy at length and based on her last solo show last August, most work is barely 10% higher. The works are better, they took her more time to create and the demand is at a premium currently. She's very aware of maintaining a long-term career and going slowly with price point growth. If this show was at a couple other spaces about town, I can guarantee the prices would be higher. This is the last time for some time that she'll be doing works this large as well. All is very in line with the market and not going up too much from show to show. At this point, all but one piece is sold, just have to follow up with folks over the next day or so and still many to get to.
The print came out amazing. We're very excited to release this on Fri to all. Slim chance there may be some 'hand-touched/enhanced' prints at the opening.
The install is going to be amazing as well - will post some sneak peaks behind the scenes tommorow on our blog.
Can't wait for all to see these works in person. AMAZING.

Guess now that it's almost sold out, you won't mind me posting one of my favorites from the show. ;D ;D ;D Yah, compared to her show at copro nason, the prices are slightly higher, like the 10% andrew suggested. The gouche ones were considerably higher than the one she did at nucleus but I believe that one was underpriced to begin with and these have the hand carved frames. So overall, not a unreasonable increase. Another thing is that she has a lot of big paintings in this show compared to other shows which may make it seem like prices have gone up a lot but in actuality, it's just that the paintings are bigger.

as for pricing... not everything was up ~10%... i think the 4 smallest ones on wood didn't really go up too much in price compared to the previous shows from a few months back... for example Dream Begins is 3300... where my summer snoberries from roq la rue last year i think was 3200... the gouche ones i have no idea cuz she hasn't sold them as frequently

Totally. It's a pretty mellow increase, and with the bigger ones, she's put more time into each than ever before. They are just so smooth, the brush strokes fading away.
The gouche ones are a bit more, but when 5x7 gouche in simple frames were 1,000 a year ago at Copro and these are 8x10, better with SO much more detail and all in one of a kind hand carved frames... those were the true steals from the show. Wait to you all see in person.
She's finishing up her install now... WOW WOW WOW. What a way to treat those entering the gallery. Jack from VinylPulse will post a teaser tomorrow.
See you all Friday everyone!
