Williams was just chosen as one of the 55 artists for the 2010 Whitney Biennial. Very nice.

This is what I just "heard" through E-mail:
"Thanks for your interest in the latest print by Robert Williams. The price is $2,500 presently. That is the opening price, the price will go up as the edition sells. If in Los Angeles we can make an appointment for you to come by our gallery to view it."
Looks like it's a pretty nice size as well...

Thanks sketchv. $2500...ouch. I bet they are nice but too much for me to spend on a print. I'll just suffer with the Wms. I already have.
Edit:
On second thought, it's only an edition of 25 (i think I saw that), it's nice and big, and it's a fantastic image.

Well got a great surprise today. Went to The Artist Museum show at MOCA on Grand and was blown away to see two NEW Robt Williams paintings!! Man are they nice! Tried to zap a couple photos but the MOCA Militia clamped down with it's Iron Fist. Here are some poor quality sneek peeks I got before the hammer fell:   |

Yeah I was pretty surprised too, that they weren't in the 2009 show since one was dated 09. The other was 2010, at least by the date signed.
The shots do no justice though, they are very impressive.

Here are some photos I got of the William's pieces. For those who haven't seen the show they were in a small gallery towards the end of the exhibit alongside the Mark Ryden piece and across from a HUGE Kenny Scharf. For the most part I thought this show was pretty disappointing and a real missed opportunity.   |
