There was a drawing I absolutely loved of his from the recent Laz Outsider show in London...even better in person. But it was relatively small and going for $5k+....not that he doesn't deserve it because he is one very talented artist. I can't wait to see his documentary in a couple weeks...he's definitely one of the most entertaingin artists out there so it should be pretty interesting.

he drew some headz in my sketchbook... when he was done he didn't give me back my sharpie, still a fair deal:  I do remember some kid brought a large canvas for him to spray paint on... left before I could see if he was willing to do that, hehe |

i strongly suggest picking up one of his books, one of them are still available from giant robot... it will make you think his art is really stupid or even more brilliant (i tend to think the latter  ) fyi: i'm bidding on that copy of slow jams on ebay ... please pm me if you're thinking about bidding so my heart doesn't get broken at the last minute |

I would have loved to see Choe's _Batman_ get published. It would be even darker and more pervert than than the _Dark Knight_ movie! His books are really GREAT (I have all of his books and one old zine!)

I've had too many chances to purchase his work ever since the first time I saw his show from his prison days in NYC. It's about frigging time that I've acquired his piece and been enjoying his piece ever since. As a matter of fact, here's what mr. choe said about this piece when we corresponded via email a while ago: "but anyways yeah definitely beauty and the beast the mutated whale has always been my id and girls with socks drive me crazy and he's just giving her a shoulder ride and all she can do is fuck with his head. it's just about how girls are so pretty but they can do such manipulative fucked up and dark things to poor unsuspecting nerds. anyways thats all i was trying to say with that . but also even though it's confusing and it hurts he doesnt want her to stop because having her hand in his hole also feels good "hurts so good" seriously, mr. choe really had something going on with this painting! |
