WOW! Amazing. One of my favourite collections on here. Love the Keyes, Francis, Soto, Musgrove and Craola (pretty much everything). You have excellent taste. Props.

Thanks everyone. It's been a long time in the making and something I am quite proud of and get to enjoy on a daily basis. I've got a few choice things in the making, so perhaps I'll get more images up at some point.

wow walt! i always knew you had some absolute gems but i had no idea you had those parla pieces! the canvas looks huge with all of the detail going on in there, but the ceramic piece is something REALLY special. congrats on that piece in particular. i can only imagine the crazy detail going on in the ian francis piece. i love the elements of linework he leaves unpainted - this one looks particularly refined. i'd love to see a close up of that if you get chance to grab another picture. that's a great keyes piece too - i thought that you had this one framed previously? did you decide to remove it or did i get confused? the soto and musgrove pieces are commissions right? both are wonderful? and what about that sashie globe? awesome. you are a lucky guy to grab one of those. is that from 2010?

thanks bud. the parla bizen yaki is one if my most prized possessions. i got really into ceramics in high school. once a year, we'd take a field trip out to this arts studio way in the country that had a massive wood fired kiln on site and would get to fire our work in the same fashion that these pieces were done in japan. the way the chemicals in wood and the smoke react with the glazes is so unique. there's nothing like it. it's also highly unpredictable and has the potential to completely ruin a perfectly thrown piece of clay. when it does turn it right, it's magic. i have such fond memories of those experiences and have many personal vessels to savor. so this piece has a special place in my heart. pictures do not do it justice at all. because of the oxidation and the metallic effect, it's almost prismatic at certain angles in person. it's also got some of the strongest calligraphy relief of any of these 2006 ceramics i've seen. here's a detail of each i have on my flickr..

Killer Ian Francis! Was it a commission or from a recent show?

Agree with others, a great collection. I am surprised by the number of these artists that accept commissions esp Parla

Was expecting to finally receive a couple new pieces this week and went around to snap some clean images of other work currently on the walls in anticipation the other night. But as is always the case, complications have arisen and I won't be getting them for a little while longer. So figured I'd throw the pics I shot up, as this hasn't been updated in a while.
