"Mark Ryden’s Rose Pin being released today is not the same edition as the pin earlier released. It is the same image of Rose, however, it is made from a completely different mold and composed of far better quality materials. " ritedere - Awesome - sounds like this pin is of exceptional quality! Thanks for the info.... jIm

Missed that one! Does anyone know if Porterhouse sends out emails about releases anymore? Last one I got was for the Tree of Life. Yes they do. They sent this one out on Wed. 8/13. You've only missed out on this and "Sweet Wishes" which they mailed out on 7/14.

I guess I should send email over to Alyson at Porterhouse. Maybe they think I'm a flipper or something

I was tempted when I saw that they were limit 4 per customer. I thought I could always use the extra cash but it only took a split second to decide not to. I just don't have it in me, it's not in my nature to screw over others. Not sure why they had the limit set so high on an edition of that size at that cheap of a price.

Browsing thru Strangeco and spotted this Ryden piece on the cover of "The Upset: Young Contemporary Art" book. Info from Strangeco. Another AMAZING book about contemporary art from Gestalten! A new breed of contemporary art is enjoying new-found international recognition for a style and approach that sprouts from - and largely influenced by- visual subcultures. The Upset documents this new movement whose works are often figurative and narrative, employing classical techniques with great skills to create sculpture, illustration design and painting. These artists often use non-traditional materials, too - spray cans, sharpies and elaborate colour palettes on canvas. In addition to the striking visual work, The Upset features portraits and in-depth interviews with artists who are creating outstanding cutting-edge contemporary fine art. The Upset features a TON of contemporary artists, including Camille Rose Garcia, Cody Hudson, Elizabeth McGrath, Faile, FriendsWithYou, Gary Baseman, Jeff Soto, kozyndan, Mark Ryden, Miss Van, Os Gemeos, Ray Caesar, Ron English, Tim Biskup, Travis Louie and quite a bit more. This book is a serious must-have. www.gestalten.com/books/detail?id=ceaea7651b8d326c011bb1f331d40027

i got this book about a month ago on heiko's recommendation that he posted elsewhere on artchival. really good quality book with excellent layout. i'd recommend it to anyone. some well known 'scene' artists, and also some that i hadn't come across before, but there is so much content (its at least an inch thick) that i'm sure that everyone reading this forum would appreciate it. p.s. i got it from amazon with a good discount on the publishers price.
