Wow, I think I prefer the dark wood more than the lighter. It really shows off her line work and still retains that incredibly soft and sensual imagery of her women.

well, nice to see her style evolve a bit after several show albeit only a change of background color. looks like there are some horizontal scratches on there. i wonder it's thats part of the wood grain or what? bad picture?

Maybe the wood grain looking at the marks overall. Personally I would love the face mark free or I know I would always see that if I walked past it in my house, no matter how gorgeous it is in the frame.

Stunning. Makes me want to fly to Rome!
She said on her blog that the wood panel is actually different strips of wood that have been joined together. That's what causes the marks on the panel...that's where two pieces are joined. I've noticed this a bit on some of her older pieces...joined panels rather than a single piece of wood.

That is superb, even with the weird marks. I like the darker images even more. I am going to her Rome show (well, it is not that far from here so I am really excited. Does anyone else have plans to go?

I picked mine up yesterday too. I was there around 1:30PM. No one else was there, so we obviously didn't cross paths. Karamari is my favorite. I kinda feel like I own an original. The frame is perfect. Her Secret Bird is awesome as well. However... when Copro posted the pictures of it framed, I had made up my mind I was going to have it reframed! My mindset was, well I'm not going to resell it, so who cares if I kill some of its value by upgrading the frame to something 10 times better. But, in person it's actually not bad at all. I'll end up keeping it as is. And note for anyone bold (or foolish enough) to contemplate reframing these new prints: The signed and numbered certificates are actually STICKERS now. They're slapped on the back... So now I really can't reframe it without making a mess of things... Oh well, like I said: The frame is better than I had expected.

i have the sophia print from a while back. the signature and number is on a gold sticker on the back of that one too, so i guess that this is not a new practice for them - makes it easier to get the artist to sign and number the prints without having to move the artist or the bulk of prints around i guess!

yup they do this and have been doing this for these type of prints (their amy sol prints are the same way)... this way they can keep the print looking as much like the original as possible... cuz the originals u never see with signature and number on the front

i really do need to post some pictures, my collection has taken on a life of it's own (i.e. totally out of control ) unfortunately, my camera is on the fritz ( ) and i'm in the middle of major spring cleaning around here, rearranging EVERYTHING on the bright side, i was inspired by a post about framing over on the KR board a few weeks back and have finally begun to frame a few prints, i've actually been hunting thru antique stores and the like for appropriate frames and have a few ready to go to the framer's, so hopefully i'll have a few new things up on the walls soon in the meantime you'll just have to take my word for it, these 2 prints are STUNNING. i still don't have a place for "her secret bird" but i temporarily hung "karamari" in my living room and when i woke up this morning and saw it, i did a double take, i thought maybe i had gone over to marcus' house and robbed him, it looks just that good, lol ;D

I got my Lacey print today. I opened it up and was so glad that I didn't end up having to sell it last week to fund my Faile. For many reasons, namely it'd make me do something I generally despise which is selling something before even having it in hand <slaps own wrist>, but it's also SO AMAZING in person to me. I mean, every Kawasaki I've ever had has this effect, but I'm a sucker for the big print, and I had no idea this one was as big as it is (it's no Oiran, but it's a pretty good size). I also got #150/150! This shouldn't excite me but it does. Whatever it takes, right?
This one's staying with me!
