That octopus piece is going to be amazing. I wonder what it will be sitting on - almost looks like he's in a cylindrical tank.

Josh just shared his latest piece for Space//Form group show: Isn't that how thinking sometimes feels? You get a small idea, and then it grows and grows like the chambers of a nautilus. - JK

Really wish I could have made it out to the closing. Probably would have been my only chance to see so many classic pieces in person. Did anyone from the forum manage to purchase anything from the show?

Interesting show. Not quite sure how I feel about this being called a "show" but interesting nonetheless.
Def nice to see "Lifted" get back brought into the mix.
The only thing a little hard to understand is how there really were only 2 new works in the show?! The other newer works were sold at Levine as pieces that were supposed to be in that's show. The other works seem to be loaned from private collections, maybe even the same collection. All this aside, it's nice to see Josh's work all collectively displayed together in an educational gallery setting.
I'm personally anticipating how the Seattle show turns out.

Love the 'one per family' line. They must be getting wise to the whole 'lets bring grandma, uncle Dave and our 10 kids' strategy.

I wonder if the chimp will be super-sized like the octopus? Can't wait to see the full body of work for this show

Bloody hell. I was thinking the Roq, but typed Kirsten . The Kirsten sounds pretty bad ass though. You could pull it off.

I'm interested to hear this forums thoughts on Josh's new work for the Roq show. I just reread the healthy discussion a while back where many members contributed on the evolution and progress of Josh's painting.
From what I can tell, these works seem like a shift from dystopian to orwellian-like allegory. The subjects appear to have obvious humanlike intentions and interactions with the environment.
I'm also interested in his use of geometric shapes that frame each scene. Until now, it appears that cubes are used when a volume of water is presented and hexagonal prisms or cylinders for open air when the subject is somehow connected to the ground.
These are just a few initial observations about his composition and the personality he seems to embody in his animal subjects. I'm looking forward to seeing all 6 pieces.
