Really surprised this moved as quick as they did, congrats to Dave and Josh. "The Call" was hanging around for months, granted it was 750 but imo one of his best prints. Looks like the love for Josh's work is on the up. Well deserved for such talent.

Spoke with the gallery today. For those of you who picked up a print, they'll be shipping them out in order received. So, some of us will get them before December.

Should I frame my print like this?

the framing looks really nice. i actually quite like how the darker frame looks on this piece and the spacing between the print/frame looks great. i don't think you could really go wrong with either the dark or the white. i would think it probably ends up being more of a style choice or how it fits in with the rest of your stuff.

sleep....that actually looks really nice. I planned on framing mine in a thick box white frame, like most Keyes prints are, but the pic you posted makes me reconsider that.

A new interview with almost no new ground covered for even the casual Keyes fan, except... If you could collaborate with one artist; living or dead, who would it be?
Wow what a question, I think it would be amazing to hand Van Gogh his brushes or help mix his paint for him, I would love to see what Mathew Barney is smoking to come up with his sculpture and film ideas. Too many to choose from but it would be cool to work on a painting with Banksy, I could paint something and he could vandalize it.Found that amusing myself.

it would be cool to work on a painting with Banksy, I could paint something and he could vandalize it. This has to be a joke. I got nothing against Banksy, he's clever, famous, etc. Why would anyone want to have him vandalize their art other than more exposure? Keyes certainly doesn't need it.

What does the future hold for you? Are you planning on having any solo exhibitions and time soon?
I have a solo show at the Fecal Face Gallery in San Francisco this April, the theme or title for the show is the Magician’s Garden, it will showcase imagery that plays on genetic mutations in a post apocalyptic setting.
I found this interesting as well. I thought the next show would be a continuation of the resurrection story he started at the DBS show last month.

I remember JK asking over on the Banksy forum a few years back for anyone who had details of how to contact Banksy so you never know.

I was thinking he was thinking more along the lines of him adding graffiti to it. If you notice, a lot of Keyes work has items that have been vandalized... And I personally think a Keyes piece with a little Banksy in it would be awesome (except for the fact that I could never own it). Im sure that was what keyes meant

Self Portrait from Josh's site..which is no longer there. Can't recall exactly, but thought it was dated 1996. Nice to know Josh rocks the shrinners cap while painting.

Superb! oh yeah, that is very nice! love how the dirt fills up most of the space out to the edges - gives it a nice claustrophobic/buried effect.

It looks pretty big actually. I would think he would go small for this show so that there would be more pieces?

Just because I'm in complete awe of this piece, here's a higher resolution studio shot. One of the most compelling paintings he's devised since Levine last year. I love the fact that he didn't settle the bones in the dirt and, due to his insane technique with the bones and the shadowing, they appear to hover above the panel.

Thanks for the high res shot lowpro. His shadowing is amazing under the ribcage. Hoping to fly out to SF to see this show if work allows
