some snaps from Josh's studio - the painting is for Unnatural Histories II group show at Antler PDX, and the little guy is another hint for the upcoming signature series figure with ToyQube..

A photo Ken took of a mural I never knew existed at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.

This piece is absolutely stunning. I had a chance at it but couldn't make the money work. Whomever lands this will be the lucky owner of a Keyes masterpiece.

I really love the treadmill wall. +1 on the backstory? I've always dreamed of seeing Josh's work on a life size scale. Would be facinating to see organic elements incorporated.

Josh Keyes, or Roy Neary? That is such a wonderful scene, making mashed potato mountains or a colossal dirt mound in the living room is very enjoyable. Most creative people, writers, painters poets and performance artists, have described being in such a state when creating or dreaming up imagery and ideas, almost like a trance when captivated by a moment of inspiration. Often the process that moves them through to the completed expression appears ridiculous or crazy to the observer. I use a combination of methods to engage the imagination, sketching is one form and the sculptural form and sound is another. Before graduating from Yale, my professor Mel Bochner, gave me a little advice, "My advice to you Josh, just don't become an eccentric." I am afraid I may have disappointed him. On another note I am really looking forward to participating in your upcoming show and already have an idea that I feel and hope will be a compelling image in honor of those who are coping with cancer. Thank you for the invitation x43x. Cheers

Glad to have you on board! Can you elaborate on the sound methods you mentioned? Is is a particular music you listen to? Do you listen and then paint, or listen while you paint? Let me know if you need help tearing up the garden
