Love her work, too bad her OGs are so expensive and she rarely puts out prints. I was able to pick up two of her prints some years ago. A small one and the bigger one that was on Flopdoodle for ages.

we have the loose lips print in my daughters bedroom, and seonna was kind enough to sign and doodle the animus book for her too - she has quite a collection of artist signed books!!
those paintings above are stunning. i really like the direction she is heading in now. did anyone see her portraits for the people in the city show a few years back at sixpsace? i thought this was a real change of direction for her.

Wow, that is so cool. Congrats on that. I heard a story about a couple getting a different artist to paint portraits of their daughter every year which sounded pretty cool. After hearing your story also, I will strongly have to consider doing something similar when the time comes. Thanks for sharing. Also glad to hear that seonna is so cool...

Thanks Sleepboy. Since we had Seonna do the portrait, we've had a second child, so now we're trying to decide who to approach to do a new one. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hey teddyt, Just wanted to say I like your blog. I found it on google when I was searching for info on Biskup's chrome Pollard. Good stuff.
And I also really like Seonna's work. Maybe she'll do a print on canvas or wood I can buy sometime.

Thanks, Irsk! Hope you keep reading! Seonna hasn't done a print in some time that I can remember. I think it's been a couple of years. Here's hoping she does more! Teddy www.popdrawer.com

Thanks, Spidah! And shortly after I posted that, this print popped up at the Grass Hut show: grasshutcorp.com/blog/?page_id=3&category=2 (scroll way down) Someone's answering my prayers. So let's try another, what the heck... Hmm, it's been forever since Mark Ryden has offered a print less than $2000. (Don't think that one's going to work). Teddy www.popdrawer.com

The family portrait is AMAZING. I've always wanted Seonna to do a portrait of me and my beloved kitties. Maybe someday!

Those two pieces were $5000 each and I'm pretty sure neither of them sold at Aqua. They were beautiful for sure.

They were being shown by Hosfelt Gallery. I'd say they were no smaller than 14" x 11". Now I can't remember if they were 3 or 5k. There was a painted piece on paper covered by a layer of Mylar with some graphite and acrylic. Very delicate and beautiful pieces.

I'm afraid to email them as I might have to break my freeze on buying right now.

So I hunted them down. They are 11 x 16" at $5000 each. Mixed media so those patterned balls in the background are cut out and pasted I believe. They are quite lovely as a set but not sure I want to pay so much. Don't know how to compare these to here wood pieces, I believe they are priced comparably. They are offering 10-20% off depending how many I buy.... So tempted.

Really wonderful piece. Love Seonna's work, it just gets better & better. Wonder if you can commission something directly from her and get a little larger image for the same price?

Posted by outerbourough: Noticed that Seonna Hong didn't have a thread. Anyone else here interested in her work? For those unfamiliar, Hong is an emmy-award winning animator turned fine artist, and the only non-Japanese artist in Takashi Murakami's Kaikai Kiki stable. Pieces from group show opening tonight at Levine
