Gemeos trivia: The dog in your portrait is the Gems' old dog Pinky, named after Lady Pink. She (the dog) passed on in the mid-2000s after a nice happy life.

That indeed makes the piece even more special to me too now, thanks for the insight! Not much from me lately but i did pick up this little print at frieze this year by Jeremy Deller. considering my choice in career i think its quite fitting. My career as well, I've seen many a sign in booths all over the world like this. Great print!

Technically 2012 but as this wont be coming to me after the museum show in late march 2013 I figure this should be my first purchase of the year. Daniel Arsham 'Moon Jetty'

seems like a bit of a departure for you. Can you share a bit of what drew you to this? How does it fit in with his body of work?
thanks

Seems like you are taking inventory of someone else collection...keeping tabs so to speak. I understand the question, but perhaps it would be easier to address if maybe you participated in the thread too...how about posting your collection?!

I disagree, as there are the four previous pages dedicated to this members collection. I thought it was a rather thoughtful question. One which I was curious to hear an answer to. I fail to see where is is odd. I was under the impression that this was the point of such threads.
I have shared my collection in the past, but the unfortunate experience of someone trying to sell work out of my collection without my permission has soured that.

I am a big keyes fan.. but, oddly, in your collection, I like the BAST piece the best.. I really like the piece and I am surprised nobody else commented on it.. what year is that from? look like an older work.. ?
the KAWS is a good representation.. that was a great score.. congrats..

At the risk of opening up a debate that didn't quite happen earlier in the thread, these latest three pieces (my favourites of the ones you've posted from your enviable collection) really do seem to represent a departure for your collection. Is there anything behind that? Is it shifting taste, or did you always want works like these but didn't add them until now for lack of availability, or something else? I'm genuinely interested in understanding how the collection evolves.
------- In case the above offends, please ignore and read the following instead: great pieces, thanks for sharing, awesome!
I'm sure we all feel better now.

I guess my tastes have changed over the last year or so, i have had my eye on a couple of those artist's for a while now but never committed to any work (a problem i have regularly) then i find myself coming back 6 months later and buying something. Lund's work i was introduced to via the forum which to that i am very thank full as i think he's an extremely exciting artist.
So yeah, I am trying to go down a more emerging contemporary / Conceptual route right now. I have added some blue chip works to my collection (which was what last year was about for me) and now this year its about taking some risks and adding some fresh new talent. Thats not to say i don't like the work i have bought previously but my taste does change and evolve as i grow older and am exposed to more art. (as i am sure everyones is) which i guess is part and parcel in growing and curating your own collection.

Thanks for answering! This was just the kind of thing I wondered about: whether the collection reflects a movement in taste, or just comes closer to being representative of taste you've had all along, or whether there was something else going on. I think it's interesting, when looking at these collection threads, to be able not only to enjoy the collection itself vicariously but also the curation process --- so thank you for that bit of insight.

Love this! The color definitely punches. A nice size too. A smaller version on the way for me!

Whilst its technically not 'IN' my collection i have been given permission to post the other flower canvas that i collected for a forum member to show how lovely they look as a diptych. Its a shame they are parting ways in all honesty.
