I swear there were Tauba lots that passed (403 and 405) that are completely missing from the results now. 403 was a fold that passed right after that million dollar fold result too. Hmmmm.

Maybe Lots 403 and 405 were pulled prior to? Everything sold, even the 'smaller' works: I doubt it but, I do it, Marble & Wood works.

Lot 403 Fold was pulled prior to the sale due to the condition of the work.

----
True to her vibrant capacity to reveal unseen forms from the chaotic marriage of geometry and color theory, Tauba Auerbach returns to Three Star Books with a new edition entitled GHOST/GHOST. This sculptural follow-up to Auerbach’s previous edition (STAB/GHOST) takes off from, quite literally, a different plane. Nine colors are silkscreened recto/ verso upon 5 mm plexiglass, encasing a complex combination of graphic elements within a specially crafted oak frame, to be installed perpendicularly to the wall.
Edition of 24 copies, with 3 artist’s proofs Each edition is accompanied by a numbered and signed certificate
Description: Format: 81,6 x 61,3 x 0,5 cm 32.1 x 24.1 x 0.2 in. Clear Plexiglas ® 9 silkscreened colors recto/verso
Oak frame Format: 84,5 x 64,3 x 4 cm 33.3 x 25.3 x 1.6 in.

in other news, the summary for Tauba's 2014 solo show at London ICA notes "Her ICA show features newly created sculptures and photographs which take as their starting point the scientific principles of symmetry and reflection as a means to hint at an alternate, mirror universe." sounds like new bodies of work for 2014 - will be interested to see where she goes with this.

Exciting news about her ICA show. I really enjoy her 'scientific' approach to her artwork...it feels very 21st century to me.

for those who may have an interest.
Tauba is working on setting up an website called diagonal press - where works will be created and sold on an un numbered / unsigned / and possibly open edition size.

I too never get any updates for her but have been on her mailing list for sometime. Heard from the ICA that there will be an exhibition of her work next year so a nice way for us UK guys to see it up close and personal. No works will be for sale at this show. www.ica.org.uk/whats-on/tauba-auerbach-new-ambidextrous-universe

In case you didn't know (I didn't) there's a Fold painting on show at the Pompidou centre in Paris, marked up as a recent acquisition.

For those interested in a preview of the Tauba show at the ICA in London in April, see her summer show at the Norwegian gallery Standard. www.standardoslo.no/en/exhibitions/203Looks interesting....loads of photos on the gallery site. Did anyone hear definitively on the possibility of an ICA edition? Thanks.

how do forum member feel about these early original works? i'm curious, as they're so different from anything she's producing now, or for the past several years. cheers.

I prefer Auerbach's early text- and symbol-based work. I'd take this over a fold any day. how do forum member feel about these early original works? i'm curious, as they're so different from anything she's producing now, or for the past several years. cheers.

yes! i love that piece. i find that i like her early works, the folds, and the big books that she's done. i still greatly admire her, and always look forward to what she will do next....but i miss the early works.
