I dont see a thread for this artist, I am starting one. He just showed at Roberts & Tilton today April 13, 2013. I wasnt able to get a price list or a PDF of the image but it seems the gallery has put up the works on their page. If anyone has picture please post.
Thanks

There seems to be a huge amount of hype around this guy at the moment.

There seems to be a huge amount of hype around this guy at the moment. Maybe this isn't the place to ask or answer, but as a relative outsider to the art world / scene / whatever you might call it, I wonder: where does one hear or read all this hype? The only place I have encountered this artist is on this forum...

Perhaps hype is the wrong word as it suggests that he has been written about a lot. It's more a sense I'm getting from the collector community and the fact that his show at Roberts & Tilton entirely presold. I'm sure that taste makers like Dr X buying his work is also driving demand.
That's not to say it's unfounded. His work is great IMO.

Actually, Parker Ito solo at LA acted as a springboard for Israel (who was hosted in that show). Now the two guys are very hot!

For some reason, seeing it like this reminds me of Callum Innes's very fantastic watercolor works. Check them out: www.calluminnes.com/works-paper/watercolours/ The more similar ones are toward the end. and a video of making: and of a large exhibition at Sean Kelly:

Callum Inne's watercolours are things of exquisite beauty. I had the pleasure of seeing his recent exhibition at the Whitworth in Manchester and had a lovely talk with him. I'm going to his studio later this year hopefully. A great artist and a gent.
