Just picked up this little piece last night... it's a tribute to an old friend from his graffiti crew. I've been wanting to get something from him for a long time, and it seems that the clock is running out on these text-based pieces, as he's moving into new territory. David Jien "Cloer"

Picked this up last summer from Jonathan LeVine, but it just arrived this week, after spending several months on the wall at the Portsmouth Museum of Art. The landscape is inspired by his trip last year to Iguazu Falls, which is on the border of Argentina and Brazil. Andrew Hem "Get Right Back Up"

Just spent a nice long while looking through this thread at your collection. Simply amazing. Dawn III and Giant Down are my faves amongst some really awesome pieces. Kudos,

I'm really enjoying that Hem piece, "Get Right Back Up". Tessar's "Blue Reasons" compliments Andrew's pieces quite well too! Great pairing Commandax. Must admit one of my favorites though is "Study for 'He Still Breathes Through Everything I See'", it's just plain awesome.

Thanks, Jacub! Edwin's study is really special, he does so much with so little. I keep trying to convince him to show his drawings more... they're pure magic.

Andrew's vision is really speaking to me these days. Kind of hard to buy anything else, to tell the truth. Andrew Hem – Oner

Wish I had bought a couple pieces from these guys when I first met them two years ago. They get better by leaps and bounds. Dabs Myla – Installation Goodies

'Oner' is wonderful, the light on the shirt particularly does it for me.

Fell in love with this piece from Andrew's installation at LeBasse. It's inspired by Michelangelo's David. I think the tension between the masculine and the feminine, the human and the animal, the stone and the flesh is very compelling. Andrew Hem "Shinoe"

Really like the works by Hem on this page, first of all "Get Right Back Up". I'm getting a very cool vibe from that one. Maybe has sth to do with memories of visiting the Iguazu falls (and it really is "raining" there all the time, because of the force of downpour from the waterfalls)

A wonderful drawing from Chris Berens, from the special edition of Mapping Infinity. Here is the verso. Each of the special edition drawings has a little cat-fox creature on the verso with the edition number on its head. This was a special one for me.

This was my first impulse buy in a long time, at the Affordable Art Fair today. Her name is Kikyz 1313, and she's a 22-year-old artist from Mexico. Her work is both beautiful and terrible, compelling and repellent. "Ethereal Graze"

Thanks for the compliments on the collection, you guys. Here is my pride and joy, a commission by my dear friend Andrew Hem. Following up on something he told he'd been wanting to try a few years ago, I asked him to make an hommage to the famous abstract portraits of Chuck Close, via a jumbo version of his trademark matchbox collages. It took him 255 matchboxes and six months to execute, but he really rose to the challenge. Here are a couple of close-ups.
